kalarm
Hello, I burned Kalyway leopard 5.1 on a single layer DVD. I can boot from CD fine, BUT when I come to install, there is a choice of 2 errors. 1:The DVD get scanned and gives an error 2:I ignore the scan and go for the install and get another error telling files are missing. EDIT:Says file cannot be created What should I do? Reburn the CD using something else? (Which software do you recommend?). Do I need a dual layer DVD (the image is 4.37GB big and my DVD are 4.38, might be too close? Does a software help with these things? So thats it for my questions. I was also wondering if kalyway 5.1 was good for me. I got an intel Q6600, nvidia gforce 8800 GTS 640mb and intel motherboard, would I be better with something else? Thank you for you help ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121106-unable-to-create-file-error/ Share on other sites
ph33r213
Same thing happened to me, I have decent media (memorex) and a okay dvd burner. Try to burn the disk as slow as you can, no higher than 4x. I used Alcohol 120% to burn mine. It took 2 other dvds before i got one that worked, haha. I guess you just have to get lucky. Edit: Your single layer dvds are fine. That's what I used. Gujal
use ImgBurn (it is free) to burn the ISO and turn on the verify option while burning. This will burn the image to DVD and then verify the burn for you. That's what I did and it didn't change a thing Actually this time I retried, ignored the mac disc verification and the actual error is that it is unable to create a file. Is it because of the DVD? Or the HDD??? I am installing on a already used HDD (it says it will format tho...). Do I need to format my HDD to RAW? Is it even possible? Is it normal that it takes a while before I get the the mac installation? MGJulius
Hey, Did you first create a HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) partition in the disk utility. kalarm
don't think so. I'll check it out does installing in French changes something???? Well I'm writing this from my mac OS X I formated the HDD through the menu before installing. I got an error at the very end but then I rebooted and tada I had a mac! Now... How do I make it in 1650 by 1050 resolution? And how do I get sound? (integrated sound card in the intel mobo). And whoa it seems my DVD drive wont open anymore :S Edit: nope just have to eject the CD before pressing the button to open it . kalarm
Rawr So I had the great idea of installing the updates.Gave me a "B0 error" when booting. Reinstalled, went through WITHOUT the error at the end and everything I get at the grey loading screen it says I need to reboot... over and over... if I take the DVD out it give "B0 error". What must I do? Also what must I install and not install? My 1650/1080 screen resolution problem wasnt fixed either.
