Hourglass
I have been successfully installing OSX86 since Jaguar. And have done and will continue to do so successfully. I just want to know the satisfaction of owning a real Mac for the idea of a smoother transition of moving old system and personal files through to major updates and that the experience is quality, such as the owners declare. Something that requires hours, and days more effort on a PC for a non-programmer, such as myself, to accomplish may alleviated long term when owning a Mac. Hopefully one day I will do myself the pleasure of owning an actual Macintosh. I enjoy building my own PC, but having a Macintosh just to know if it is really more gusto than my Hack is what only owning one could do for me. Its great to be tinkering with life to learn and I know I always will. But what I hope to learn is that somethings are designed ground up to be a quality and complete experience, like a Macintosh Computer. If I can, one day I will have one of my own so I can say I know that experience first hand. Putting to rest, for the moment, the question of a Mac vs a PC. Mind you my PC will be close by for tinkering. - peace, relax, out - Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120594-as-a-pc-tinker-will-i-ever-own-a-macintosh-computer-let-me-clarify/ Share on other sites

Hagar
it isn't nor is it a review, moved to randomland.. as far as I can see it's the incoherent ranting of someone who (from the looks of things) had a fairly straightforward tiger install. but difficulties with leo... oh well. it's not for everyone, this game, but an odd reaction, seing as os x works better and is easier to install now than ever before. Hourglass
You're right, for those of you whom have owned a Macintosh Computer this is not news but common sense. No, tinkering with a PC and installing Mac OS X or any quality OS is something I very much enjoy. But a hack will never be the real deal, nor the experience of owning one for a few years or more. The software and Hardware in a Macintosh were built to be seamless and the transitioning of major upgrades is not buggy, or so I hear. I would like to know first-hand since the Mac Computer is a hack free experience. I imagine thus making long term transitions much smoother.. Lastly, think of this as just me sharing my personal point of view from a following since Jaguar was hacked. I only mean to leave a suggestion as friendly advice rather than as a threat. I will try to revise my story. Even if I appear confused, there are dialogue manners/ethics must always be considered. everyone has a unique viewpoint and set of circumstances, impossible for any singular mind to understand. Off guard, its nice to see a more of the person of a "poster". I feel it is harsh and imprudent to hurry to conclusions about what one is saying, especially when the poster is referring to oneself. Though some seem harmful, I don't criticize anyone here too harshly since they can only take what I post into consideration and not my edits. If you mean to consciously harm then you deserve what conscious harm is done. Otherwise considered naive. Though I am already assuming too much myself and perhaps over-reacting as it is. If so, I will correct myself. From what those who own a Mac have said, there is no comparison to any Hack, long term most importantly. I hope every PC tinker will own one alongside their PC. I know such a hope may be impractical but that's life. Not something to get too upset over but rather just a long-term "to do". I hope this, with my edit, clarifies things much better. Thank you for your time and consideration. - Long winded Post Scriptum : I think this belongs in my personal blog. I am doubting anyone will read it in blog form. I think its worth reading, for those who will listen/reply intently. I am a nice person, you don't see the likes opening up as much in forums. I would hope that if only abuse is to be tolerated, deletion is a last resort and not the final outcome (as is death). I am learning you can't control what people read least of all the person. So as not to upset myself over trying rather learn to post appropriately in the correct forum of topic and/or blog. I have a really hard time admitting to my mistakes. I feel the pains of posting erroneously and, relevant to this post, in not having purchased a Mac regardless of my success' in building one. - Peace, Relax, Out - Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/120594-as-a-pc-tinker-will-i-ever-own-a-macintosh-computer-let-me-clarify/#findComment-862134 Share on other sites
