declan
Is it worth it, i mean OS X on X86, i used to use OS X regularly on my ibook till it had a accident, now going back to windows was awful but my other half needs windows for work at home, so the idea of dual booting was a revelation. But one of the things i liked about OS X apart from the GUI was the feeling of stability, the just use it factor. Now i know its never gonna be quite that easy this way but does OS X on a custom PC feel fragile. I wouldn't know as my first attempt was useless, so i butchered my PC and ordered what i consider the most compatible bits, but waiting for them to arrive is frustrating. Do you know i am not the greatest speller, but i loved OSX's spell checking everwhere, it was those little touches i liked the most.
marliwahoo
Yes - it is worth it if ...... You have the right motherboard and cpu. You like learning learning about computers/OSX You don't mind a good challange. You like OSX. You have a clue.
mark7714
If you get the right hardware it will not be fragile. OS X on my laptop feels (almost) exactly like OS X on any mac (even with SSE3 emulation). The few differences are not stability issues, just little things like the battery monitor, and needing video dongle. I wouldn't go back.

declan
Well learning is no problem since i have already used a mac for sometime plus i work in the computer industry, just don't wonna spoil my already good image of OS X, that is why i bought the most compatible parts. urig-herb
marliwahoo is right. It's worth it if you're up for a great learning experience and a challenge. I'd say it is not a greater challenge than installing linux...
rohde
I'd say it's worh it. But it requires some work to get it going and especially if you want to maintain it with the security releases. I like it more than Windows tho'. I hope you enjoy it
