Any updates on this> I saw this solution in another thread. I have an EP35-DS3L too and I was having similar problems. I would install the kexts and would get Line Out sound, but it would be gone when I rebooted. I looked around earlier this morning and found that thread while at class. I just tried it and the kexts in the link worked great for me and now I have Line Out, Digital Out, Headphones and Internal Speaker for outputs. (optical SPDIF works, don't know about coaxial) All inputs are listed, too, and microphone jack is working.
