remarkblz
Maybe this is a dumb question: I have an ibook(mac osx panther) that doesnt run anymore(all I'm getting is the blinking folder in the middle of the screen. It'd cost around 350$ to fix it). I'm thinking about buying a compaq presario v2000z. Is there a way to install the mac osx or parts of it onto a windows computer????? user2
Did your hard drive go south? Why do you think it would cost that much to fix? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11910-install-mac-osx-on-a-pc/#findComment-74844 Share on other sites

remarkblz
Did your hard drive go south? Why do you think it would cost that much to fix? Actually I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, could be hardware or software. It was a long process, first the blinking folder started up at start up, then went away. Months later, I'm not getting beyond the folder at all and cannot use the computer. Discussions on the apple site and reinstallation when I could still start it up have not led anywhere, and 2 or 3 talks with apple repairmen have brought up the 350$ repair bill(they'll charge more than 100 $ just to look into it... )That's where I'm at ... Colonel
I don't think that there's anything that you can do for it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11910-install-mac-osx-on-a-pc/#findComment-81140 Share on other sites
