mr_christer
Guys, I can't believe it. I'm here at the CeBit in Hannover checking out the macmini Intel based. I got a xbench result of not even 60. On my Centrino Inspiron 6000 1,8 Ghz I get a bit over 60 (10.4.5). I can't believe my fake mac beats a real one... Even with SSE3 Emulation.. Great Job Maxxuss! Continue the good work! One question: This machine has a Radeon X1300 built in, it supports wide screen Does that mean that the kext of a Radeon X1300 will load up if I buy one? greets from hannover, chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11885-wow-my-hackintosh-is-faster-then-a-real-intel-mac/ Share on other sites
blackentangled
One question: This machine has a Radeon X1300 built in, it supports wide screen you mean to say it has x1300 as graphics adapter? weird i thought minis only have gma950 http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...41&nclm=Macmini Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11885-wow-my-hackintosh-is-faster-then-a-real-intel-mac/#findComment-74616 Share on other sites
domino
I have no productive post, but please don't depress me by posting that . It would really be a shame if it were really tuwooo. TokinDerrick
it could support it, but from what I"ve heard from people, they have to alter their com.apple.boot.plist (or whatever it is) to be able to change to a widescreen resolution. 39thRonin
Ummm, I'd do some serious searching in these forums before buying an x1300. I've seen numerous other posts from folks who bought them - only to find out that all of the x1???'s from ATI are not created equal. For the record, the mini is using a 950 chipset - not an ATI... VaiOSX
60 is the general result, don't forget the mini has only a 5400rpm hard disk and a GMA950 Gfx card. If you want to compare, tell me what is your CPU result. Playing game will be faster on your Hackintosh (better Gfx card), but don't expect to be faster in "CPU intensive" tasks, like iLife'06 or C4D... djeug
I downloaded xbench to a dual-core mac mini w/512ram- and it got about a 47! my AMD 3000+ with a gb of ram for a 58! I think that's pretty cool. RFMan
Fore sure... I'm curious to see how the Intel PowerMacs will perform. My P3 630 (3 GHZ, 2MB Cache) with 2GB RAM, GMA900 graphics and a WD Raptor HDD Xbenches in the low to mid 70s, there isn't an real intel Mac that benches that high of date. I've ordered a rather tricked out Dell 6400 laptop with lots of RAM and a fast HDD, I'm hoping it beats the MBP at almost half the price. mr_christer
you were right, the macmini has a gma graphics controler i was confused by two monitors, one connected to the intelmac and one to a pcc... Colonel
I think a Dual Pentium D is WAY faster than a core duo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11885-wow-my-hackintosh-is-faster-then-a-real-intel-mac/#findComment-76276 Share on other sites
thrunner
The Core Duo is actually comparable to the Pentium D: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?s=...indpost&p=68311 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11885-wow-my-hackintosh-is-faster-then-a-real-intel-mac/#findComment-76321 Share on other sites
suleiman
You guys should be aware that the Core Duo machines come with Beam Synching turned ON whereas the mactel's you guys are running have it disabled. Beam Synching, although of questionable value to real-world computing speed, does in fact boost the Xbench scores on the Apple Intel machines significantly. Not that those results aren't impressive....I was getting around the mid 50's when I had my hackintosh, but the switch to the MBP has brought some significant speed boosts.
