klapi
on behalf of a lot of post-authors in here i ask: Does anyknow know how to make USB work in 10.4.5? one "solution" was suggested as: use 10.4.3 usb kext, but they can't be loaded properly HOWEVER... startup console text tells us that the USB ports are working more than before (before: timeout, now: genetic something i think..). with 10.4.3 usb kext an error msg pops up upon pluggin in a usb device ("kext not installed correctly") and touchpad doesnt work unless started in -x mode. So... 10.4.3 kext, not a good idea, and not a valid solution. another "solution": checking bios settings for usb disable/enable... doesnt work either yet another "solution": deleting a FDmem kext - not valid either, that file is already disabled. Does anyone know how to get working USB port(s) in 10.4.5 (note: worked fine in 10.4.3), Please answer to this post so others can find the solution easily instead of posting inside other unrelated threads, thank you Best regards Klapi
thrunner
USB works fine with 10.4.5: Asus P5LD2-VM and probably all 915, 945 chipset. How to ask questions in this forum http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=11517 You might get more answers if you just post your hardware. If you don't know your hardware, try everesthome220.exe, freeware. http://www.google.com/search?q=everesthome220.exe Press any key or F8 for bootmenu on bootup and type -v (for verbose) and copy down or take a picture of the error messages. goddam colin
I got a problem in this way: my mainboard's USB works fine, but my PCI USB&Firewire combo adapter(VIA chipset) doesnt work. In system info i can see those usb and fw ports, but USB ports just dont work. i used to be fine when i use 10.4.3(1099) And i also have another PCI USB 2.0 card( NEC chipset), it works fine both in 10.4.3&10.4.5 Any solutions? thanks a lot! Sure, all that has been covered. But it seems nobody got that 10.4.3 kext. I only found the PowerPC kext and that screws up my sound. So if you got the working IOUSBFamily.kext, I'd be really glad if you could PM it to me. Cheers :-)
