How do I get rid of these cryptic signs in the menu ?

Oh my god, thats pretty funny :pirate2:

I don't think you can get rid of those... They are the Apple symbols for different keys... Those cryptic signs in your menus are trying to show you the keyboard shortcuts. For examples, the top two:

(cloverleaf)N
is the shortcut for a new finder window. On a PC keyboard this would be
Alt-N
by default.

(Up Arrow)(cloverleaf)N
is the shorcut for a new folder. Again, this would be
Shift-Alt-N
by default.

You can find keys to these symbols on the web, like this Apple page on Symbols for Special Keys which can help you learn "Apple-Speak".

Also, if you want to change the shortcut keys (for example make F5 a page refresh in Safari...) go to the System Preferences >> Keyboard and Mouse >> and select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. Here you can easily change system shortcuts, and at the bottom, you can define specific shortcuts for any application menu item. :D

But thanks for the laughs, you made my morning a little brighter :hysterical::angel:
