    iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6 Released!

I've had the same problem with several releases. My solution: open up the install log from the menu bar and set it to show all events...worked for me three times now...

    iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6 Released!

Thx for this release! Like 1.3, it works just fine - if not to say best of all releases - on my Thinkpad X60T / X60

    The spotlight turns to notebooks

OMG - only glossy screens for the MBP So there is no doubt: I won't buy one of these...thx god for OSx86!

fight the backlight brightness control feature

Thx to the (file-) support of Nicolas I was able to give the patch a quick test - it seems to work flawlessly on my X60T. No artifacts (until now), backlight control works - yeah! I will do further testing during the next days and post any news. Thx to Nicolas, oxtobyd and the whole community for making this possible

fight the backlight brightness control feature

Very interesting findings, laurier57 - knowing the problems is the first step to solving it. So one can stop fiddling around with the F4 register and different framebuffer versions, as the result is clear. I also have no idea how to address a "unknown" register/o.s. with setpci. I tried that for my fan control but with now luck. But perhaps this will lead to another idea...
  7. Hi, I'm searching for a way to manipulate a certain ACPI register of my thinkpad (X60). It is for trying fan control mechanisms on OSX. The registers are known. Is there a way to write to those registers via a certain command through terminal application? Thx for your help.. jo

fight the backlight brightness control feature

I tried my best on this issue. For one moment I thought it was solved - by changing nothing but the AppleIntegratedFramebuffer.kext to an older Version (10.4 I think) from this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=65480 But what I've got then are mouse artifacts. When rolling back to the 10.5 framebuffer, everything is fine, but I cannot control the backlight. Seems that this problem is closely related to the framebuffer.kext...
  9. For me changing LCD brightness on a X60T works with this Framebuffer kext: http://rapidshare.com/files/121260916/Appl...r.kext.zip.html It is the one coming from the LCD brightness thread... I've installed it using kexthelper...

    LCD Brightness

For me it worked in Leo4All 10.5.2 on a X60T with GMA950. I can control my backlight now like in any other OS Thx for the help, guys. I'm really close to my fully working OSX60T
  11. I'm really disappointed that they do not offer a 15" screen with higher resolution - even as an option. So I think again the MBP is a nogo for me...finally for me it is at least as important what fits on the screen (and which connectivity it has) as what is built around... But I don't want to buy an Acer Travelmate

    MacWorld: Steve's Keynote

I'm really upset that there is no update of the MBP But perhaps it will come somewhat later as Jobs didn't want to spoil the MBA introduction...? From my point of view this keynote was boring, nothing really special.

    Mobility Radeon 9000 thread

Hi Slice, sounds great so far! Good to know that you are still on track. I'm back on the stage as well - but as you have stated, I'm not really good for DIY testing But of course I'm still willingly and happy to test a specific setup based on your instructions...just for letting you know... Good luck... jo

    Mobility Radeon 9000 thread

Oh my god...really fast speed going on here. sounds a little bit like magic but ok - what does it mean "use the radeon as PCI"? just stop AGPGart loading? So that PCI is shown in sys profiler?
