NOTE: My computer specs are in my signature, if you need more info then please post so.

I have tried 3 different types of Disks to try to install. I have tried Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo4allv3, and just today Zephyroth 10.5.2. None of them worked.

Kalyway

Went up to the part where it asks which harddrive to install on. It finds no hard drive but it does find my disk drive, thinking that can be used as storage.

Leo4all

Will not boot up language selection screen. It just sits there saying "still waiting for root device".

Zephyroth

Same as Kalyway except it will not find the disk drive as a "possible storage device".

I have formatted my second internal SATA harddrive that I want to install it on to NTFS, FAT32, and I left it unallocated...

If anyone can help me, please do so. I have posted my problems on infinitemac forums with no avail also. They have also tried to help me and I am waiting for a response from them also.

Thanks for all help in advanced,

iMotox ;)

EDIT: If anyone can reccomend where i can get the latest version of Zephyroth, please PM me the link. I can't seem to find 10.5.2 rev.2 (the newer one and I heard it is fully compatible with most SATA HDs)

You're going to need to find and provide a LOT more info about your laptop and the chips used if anyone is going to help you in a meaningful way... Let me get the ball rolling: The Service Manual for the DV9600 series says your main chipset is going to be an nVidia MCP67M or an MCP67D. First thing to do is find out if anyone has had any luck with nvidia 600 series chipsets. But, that's just a start - looking through the list of possible hardware used, there are a number of things that could cause you problems running OSx86...

(Why is the main chipset important? It's the link between the processor and everything else (most importantly to you right now: your disk drives!) If the main chipset isn't well supported, you're going to have these "drive problems" - no matter what version you try to install. I don't think any real Mac ever used that chipset. You'll have to check and see if anyone around here has been able to get it working in OSx86 - good luck...)

Well, I tried booting it up with my mom's external HD (shhhhh.... don't tell her) and it found it. So, could it be my HD that are not supported to find them? Because the chipset links everything and it found the external HD, then it should be compatible with the install right? I just can't use her HD to install it because her whole buisness is on it (she's a photographer).
