Started getting a new rig together...

just ordered the:

GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L

And the COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 case

Probably gonna salvage some parts I already have 8600GT...600watt PSU etc...

My question is about the E8400/8500

8500 is 3.16 while the 8400 is 3.0 is it really worth the $65 extra???

I plan to overclock...Should I get a separate cpu cooler....???

thinking about this one.....>> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835200034

I don't really think it's worth it, the bang for buck is slightly worse with the E8500...

The new 45nm Core 2 Duos run REALLY cool, so the stock cooler works well, even for overclocking. Unless you wanna max out the CPU speed, in which case, get a better cooler. But these 45nm chips are really cool running. The stock cooler is fine for moderate overclocking though, give it a try (just watch your temperatures)

No.

That sink is no better than a stock Intel. Don't waste your money. If you want a good sink get something by Thermalright, Noctua, or a Xigmatek.

Well Intel is releasing the E8600 and dropping prices slightly on E8500 and E8400, I don't know when but "soon" - in Q3. It's not a big deal but just wanted to let you know.

hmmmm...so it'lll be 3.33ghz

guess they'll be able to OC to 4 on air on that one and maybe 5 with liquid cooling
