josh Gillner
Ok, now that my laptop is selling on ebay ($1500) im set out to find a macbook pro. I pretty much have the specs i want in mind: 17" (reg. res) GLOSSY =) 2.33 Ghz C2D 256 MB Nvidia or ect GPU RAM and HDD dont reallyh matter, as i can upgrade later. any idea where i can get one of these for my budget? (already checked ebay and craigslist, and most mac resellers are overpriced) Any help appriciated Thanks!
Chrysaor
You can't upgrade HD later, unless you want to open the case and possibly void the warranty. Buy it with the student discount with free iPod touch rebate, and sell the Touch after.
josh Gillner
buying the 17" directly form apple is basically wasting my money in this case, (why im not worried about warranty) and the only way I could do what you say is buy the baseline 15", and selling the touch would make me pay 1700 in the long run anyway any other ideas? thanks! rollcage
You're either going to have to pay more money, or lower your specs. Unless you get really lucky on ebay, you're just not going to that machine for that price.
josh Gillner
what about a 2.2 or 216 Ghz C2D model 17"? (still with the 256 MB GPU) would that be dooable...and is the performance a big difference? (i know 100-200 MHz isnt that much, but mabee theres a differnece in processors or somthing)

You want to dump $1500+ on a laptop and you don't care about or want a warranty? That's crazy. Look, you aren't gonna find a MBP at some amazing discount somewhere, so you may as well just forget about that now.
rollcage
Keep checking ebay, I found a couple that would fit your price range (so far). http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-MacBook-Pro-Core...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/MacBook-Pro-17-2-6Ghz-...1QQcmdZViewItem It's not impossible to find what you're looking for, it's just going to take persistence. josh Gillner
the 15" ones are looking really good in my price range. I would probably be able to get a 2.33-2.4 GHz model for around 1500 or so. Its a shame though, that 17" display is really nice. =) any more 17" deals, PLEASE let me know thanks guys
