user2
For PPC Macs there are a few utilities that will allow you to dump the video cards bios to a file. Does anyone know if there is an Intel Mac utility that will do the same? It would be interesting to see the differences, if any, between the standard rom image and the Mac one. labria
Yepp... a such utility would also be useful for the refresh rate hack for the ATI cards! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11084-dump-rom-from-imacs-x1600/#findComment-69437 Share on other sites

I am curious what we can do with it.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11084-dump-rom-from-imacs-x1600/#findComment-69656 Share on other sites

I am curious what we can do with it.. This will never work in an emulator, you got to have the access to resources of the card to dump the ROM, so called protected mode access. And, even if you boot DOS, 99.9% it won't work. Those utilities are BIOS based, the Intel Macs use EFI. user2
Now that Bootcamp is out I though I would bump this topic. Any chance that Bootcamp would allow the iMac to be booted in protected mode?
