Whoa. We were wondering what would happen when the performance freaks at Voodoo teamed up with HP, and the first notebook to come out of this acquisition is a surprise. No, it’s not a gaming rig. It’s one of the sleekest and most innovative ultraporables we’ve seen. The Envy 133 (starting at $2,099) rocks an instant-on mode that lets you surf the Web and make Skype calls without booting into Windows (called Voodoo IOS) and a slick power brick that doubles as a wireless access point. Intrigued yet?

There's a thread on it here. It looks like a nice laptop, however the Macbook Air has got the same specs, and costs LESS even with the external Superdrive, and lets face it, the Macbook Air is a Mac... So I would go with the Air IF I had $2000 to drop on a laptop...

I think to be a "killer," it would have to have all the Air's specs and features at a minimum, while also having a replaceable battery and internal optical drive. It would also have to cost less. Otherwise, it's just potential competition.

I say it's a killer. Don't get me wrong, Mac has great packaging and cute icons, but this system looks sooo slick.

Just a thought, but why is it all about thin it is? It seems like people are more obsessed with thin than a Miss America pageant. Either way, even though it is ridiculously thin it has some cool features and looks pretty solid (even though they say it's light). I feel like I could snap the Air in half.

Check out the Omen too - crazy machine. What do you think? : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa61gLeutrE ;)

Odd...When I played with a Macbook Air, my first impression was how amazing solid and sturdy it felt. Not a hint of flex, the whole thing is completely rigid, like a slab of solid Aluminium. I was worried that it wouldn't feel sturdy at all, but it felt awesome..

Complete rip-off. 2.5 times as expensive as a Mac Pro, for about half the computer (unless you go by weight alone, then the Omen wins by about 60 pounds).

Base price: Omen - $7000, Mac Pro - $2800

Standard CPU: Omen - 1x Core 2 Extreme 3.0GHz, Mac Pro - 2x Xeon 2.8GHz

Max RAM: Omen - 8GB, Mac Pro - 32GB

Drive bays: Omen - 6, Mac Pro - 6

SATA ports: Omen - 3, Mac Pro - 6
