mark7714
Maxxuss' kernel patches include a SSE3 emulation for SSE2 CPUs patch. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10997-install-1044-on-xeon/#findComment-68991 Share on other sites
byebyegt1
Just installed 10.4.5 on my dual 2.8 xeon last night from a pre-patched dvd. Works fine apart from the normal sound and res issues with nvidea. Registers as a 3.2 intel xeon tho but probally due to a small overclock a forgot about. mark7714
10.4.5 is reporting incorrect CPUs for most people it seems (My celeron is being called a 1.8). Could be overclocking, but probably just system profiler not really being designed for our computers. bluedragon1971
10.4.5 is reporting incorrect CPUs for most people it seems (My celeron is being called a 1.8). Could be overclocking, but probably just system profiler not really being designed for our computers. It recognizes my Celeron 2.53Ghz correctly if I run it at it's native speed, but if I try to overclock it via my BIOS, then the speed readings get screwy. I didn't really notice much of a performance improvement by the limited overclocking I did, so I just put it back to normal.
