cgsheen
bumping probably isn't going to help... Neither is not getting the information when someone asks "Well what onboard LAN is it? (Or if you don't know, what is the MoBo model?)" Onboard LAN support is chipset specific. If no one knows EXACTLY what chipset you're using - no one is going to be able to help. I'm going to take a stab at this one since there are 5,000 posts in these Forums about the stinking "nForce LAN (and/or "Networking Controller")" problem (ya, the SEARCH function does work)... Read about how hundreds of people struggle with various .kexts trying to get the thing working (they're usually talking about the infamous Realtek RTL8201 PHY) - OR - disable the damn thing in the BIOS and buy a cheap PCI LAN card (NIC) that's actually SUPPORTED by OSX (try a card with a RTL8139 (10/100) or RTL8169 (gigabit) chipset - they usually work...)... Josh Fee
Wow, you really tore him a new one If you have Windows of some variety installed, use PC Wizard (or something similar.... google it) to find out what chipset or mobo. When you get all that good info... PUT IT IN YOUR SIGNATURE! Also, screw onboard LAN anyway. At one point I got mine working, but forgot what I did, so I use a PCI card. The Intel Pro/100 works out of box for me and everyone else. cgsheen
Wow, you really tore him a new one Really? I didn't think I was that harsh... Maybe you were a little too "defensive" when you read it. Try again thinking "this old coot is trying to help" instead of "this a-hole is only trying to criticize"...
