Have you installed it yet?

If you have, then press F8 when prompted, and type:

rd=disk0s2

and it should boot, it did for me, but I'm gettinging another error because there are some files missing from my install cd

good luck

I seem to be running into the same problem. It seems to be related somehow to the PXE boot capability on my network card. I tried the rd=disk0s2, but that didn't do the trick.

I was able to get the cd to boot in vmware just fine, and I'm running the install to a raw partition under VMWARE, but it is taking FOREVER (it's been running > 12 hours now). :)

If it works, will let you know.

I get exactly the same error as you. I think your friend is not right because my p4 supports sse3, and still I get that error when I try boot the dvd.

I guess something went wrong when generating the patched dvd...

Or maybe the error might be because I have grub boot loader installed in the mbr?

  • 5 months later...

Hi to everybody!! I have a problem!!I've tried to install tiger into my PC but the computer gives every single time this error

message: "System config file' /com.apple.Boot.plist' not found".

First of all I must say my hard config: Notebook Toshiba M40-142 and I don't install the OS from image but directly

from DVD. This DVD is bootable and in others PC works!!!

I think I have in my BIOS chipset an instruction that does not allow the installation of other OS's, is it possible?

Does exist someone who know the true??? Or the mystical reasons of the Personal Computer?

I have red all the posts but no help for my problem.

BY BY and T U!!!

I had the same problem.

I will try with a PS2-Keyboard later.

I hope it will work.

Maybe I have to change DVD driver to master or slave?

Someone said also to boot from an external USB2 DVD driver.

Did you tried this?

My DVD driver is a NEC, maybe it's this...

i get the same error when trying to install on a dell inspiron 1300.

it will load up darwin and boot to the white apple screen, but then i it crashes with a ? mark box in the middle of the screen.

i tryed 30 times to boot the dvd last night and out of 30 times it loaded up darwin once, so i gave up trying. there is no PS2 keyboard port on the laptop so i cant try that to fix it. i have made a seprate partition on the drive and set it to active.

does any one know how to get 10.4.6 jas patched to install on my dell insprion 1300?

Thanks.

Maybe it's more simple than this.

Maybe we just don't have the good ISO or we burnt it badly.

I used Toast MacOS X to burn it.

But I tried 2 DVD (HotISO and JAS) and I have the same problem.

I'll try to set the DVD recorder as a slave or master soon.

Maybe it's the solution... I hope so...

Maybe that's the reason. Maybe the problem is related to USB keyboard...

I will try soon with a PS 2. I hope it's gonna work.

Ok, I resolved my first problem.

When the computer boot, you have to keep typing on "SUPPR" button, then in the BIOS, you have to choose the CD for the first boot volume.

Then, after, you just puch F12 and you select CD/DVD, and the instaall will start.

I installed all, but now, I don't know what patch I must select. I tried with nothing, but I had the Apple logo with a mark on it (interdiction), and I did not boot.

So I tried with SSE 2 and SSE 3 patch but it stucked on the blue screen...

I have an Intel 865 chipset with a Celeron D 2.6 processor.

I just have integrated graphic.

If you know what I must choose, it will help me.
