Ok here is the scoop:

I have a t61 with Nvidia Quadro NVS 140m, I've been researching through the web with mixed results. There are forums that have stated full support using both the gfxutil method and NVinject method.

I can not for the life of me get this thing to get full support for CI/QE. Here are a couple of success stories:

There is one post here stating the NVinject method works:

None of this methods have work for me. My set up is kalyway 10.5.2, EFI v8, and vanilla kernel. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards.

The card can be identified as Nvidia Quadro NVS 140m with gfxutil method. However, still black screen when NVDAResman is loaded. Do more research, I find that there are several display options in the bios configuration, such as Think LCD, VGA, DVI, etc. Here is a new question, does this config option affect the driver?

I too own a Thinkpad T61 with the Quadro NVS 140 M ... no oen seems to know much about them.... sigh...

I tried adding the device to NVDANV50Hal.kext since that is loaded when i do a -f -v boot.

It should work seeing as other people got the Geforce 8400M and 8600 to work... sigh... wonder if I should quit at this.

I have same NVS 140M on T61 not working either for me (just resolution change works in com.apple.Boot).

I guess the problem is that Darwin is not detecting well the card's memory size (mine shows 32MB even if I have 512MB). I have tried to flash the card but is difficult since nvflash is not working.

I am having the same difficulty. I have core Image supported by software but not any QE at all. Is there anyone that can help us?

Would this CUDA stuff help get a driver working? There are MAC OS versions of it: http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_get.html

I just took a look over at Nvidia's website and they make a driver for FREEBSD x86.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/freebsd_100.14.09.html

Would that help anyone take this project to the next step? It looks like you would have to compile your own code, can some one here use this info to help us all out?

For D830 nvs 140m use natit kext. full qe/ci support. trying to get it to work on external display now.

Do you mean an old one or the newest? I mean, combined ATI/nVidia enabler from netkas? I have no luck with it so far (Lenovo T61, nVidia Quadro NVS 140m)...

Cheers,

Kirill
