(MoC)
Hello there, Today I took my last DVD to burn Leo4Allv3. Out of all the things that could have gone wrong the DVD must have been defective and it burned incorrectly. I have no time to go buy DVDs today and probably won't the rest of this week. Any suggestions? I usually help people here out, if you can please help me. Thanks, MoC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107153-dvd-less-leopard-installation/ Share on other sites
shaybc
hi moc, i managed to install an OSX on a USB drive (i bought a 16G just for this purposese), the only thing i am struggling with is to make it bootable, i will get there soon. any way one of the methods you can use is to enter to DiskUtil (if you have mac) to restore the ISO image onto a USB drive (HD or DiskOnKey if you have one big enough) and boot from it, it will use as your install source, didn't tried it my self but i think it should work. actually i am going to try it now (from mac not windows) if it will work i will report back, but if you try this method let me know if it worked for you as well. b.t.w. from windows you can use: norton ghost, Hiren's BootCD etc. thanks ahead, Shay. shaybc
tryed the procedure of the boot1h thing and making the drive "ownerable" + fixing premissions did not work, maybe it is the drive or my bios boot capabilities, i am working on it, if you have some guide on that matter then please link. did you try booting image in this way? mrbonkers
here are 2 files from KALYWAY install disc. choose either mbr or guid. depends what you are using. before running the installation package, u will need to copy the contents in files to /usr/standalone/i386/ during the installation, select your flash/external drive as the path to install on. boot.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/107153-dvd-less-leopard-installation/#findComment-765643 Share on other sites
