2GB DDR2 ram

how did you decide it is not working? because you can't see your home page?

did you try ping, netstat, arp -a, ifconfig, ipconfig terminal commands?

no he's right it's not working. that's the only thing I cannot get working on my system too. I have the 680i and nforce boards are tricky for some reason. The nforce 4 drivers and forcdeth drivers won't work (at least for iATKOS V2 DISK) what install disk did you use? Do you have SATA working? if not you can copy the nforce sata patch off the disk. You should also check out the sweet nforce kernel if you haaven't already. have a wmp54g that doesn't want to seem to work. I'm going to try toh's kernel next then kalyway, but rce kernel for leopard if you have not already. anyway, I have a thread just like this one.

FYI it's hard to get everything working on an nforce board, ecspecially 6xx versions.

do you know what the ethernet ports are on your mobo? like realtekk 1000, etc.

hi,

maybe you are right and it doesn't work, but i suggest trying to figure what exactly won't work.

in network there are several layers, first check the physical layer, if you have leds that can tell you if the network card is connected (usually named link) also check for transmit led (Tx) that flashes and receive led (Rx) that indicates that the nic (network interface card) is connected and receiving pakets.

next i would try to figure out if i have a second layer connectivity (LLC) it can be done using the command arp -a, it means that if one nic can see the others on the network they will save the others MAC address (not macintosh), the command arp -a will display all the mac addresses to your PC. if it displays any thing it means you have that layer setup,

next is the third layer connectivity, it saves the other NICs IP addresses, use the command ifconfig, it will display data on all your cards, and check if the ip you entered is set in one of the NICs, next do "ping YOUR_ADDRESS" this will check the local loopback, next ping to other computers on the network (like your router IP). next run the traceroute command to check if there is a connectivity but you can't get to any ip this will display what is the route you do to that ip but where it doesn't get a response from, if you get response then next is checking DNS and finally browser.

Well I got this working and I am posting from Leopard right now. I found a thread in these forums that had a kext and it worked fine for me...However when I download things, or for example if I listen to a preview of a song on iTunes, I get kernel panic...anyone know how to fix this?
