pet1
I recently upgraded to 10.4.5. Upon browsing through the profiler, I noticed that sse3 is not listed under the supported cpu features. I have a pentium 4 630. I remember seeing it in the past with previous versions. Such as 10.4.3 and 10.4.4. jrrjrr
If you used the Myzar ppf DVD patch, I think it installed for an AMD whether you asked it to or not. Like it uses the amd-all CPU and it ran the Maxxuss AMD Enabler script to modify a bunch of files to match this kernel and run properly. This is just a theory I am looking into right now because of some related stuff I am seeing on my updated system. You might want to run the string check on the kernel you have to see what patches are actually in it. strings -a /mach_kernel | grep -i maxxuss If it does show having the AMD patch, keep in mind that you can't just swap the kernel out, but will need to also unpatch all the files that were modified by the AMD Enabler script. I am trying to find out how to do that myself. Edit: Also look here for a different take on this issue: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=10514&hl= Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10607-no-sse3-with-1045/#findComment-66459 Share on other sites
pet1
Ran the string and it said, amd enabler, sseIII emulator and a few others. Why did this happen? Any ideas, amd enabler was left unchecked during install. Any luck? myzar
It's a cosmetic bug caused by the cpuid kernel patch , sse3 are enabled and working they just don't show up . if it bothers you , you can swap the kernel with one without the cpuid workaround Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10607-no-sse3-with-1045/#findComment-66563 Share on other sites

myzar
Which kernel is that? Where can it be located? Great job with the patch btw. On the dvd there's a folder Maxuss_patch_solution1 with the original kernel and all the patches that can be applied to it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10607-no-sse3-with-1045/#findComment-66600 Share on other sites
