Thinkbook user
Help, Whenever I try to edit my Network Preferences in 10.4.3 to 10.4.5, it crashes. I remember applying a patch or updating some files but I can't seem to find them on the internet anymore. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10333-network-preference-pane-crashes/ Share on other sites
Eggman
Could you be more specific? Which version of OS X are you using? 10.4.3 or 10.4.5? Also, try a search on the forum; I remember reading about it but it never happened to me so I don't remember how to fix it. Sorry! Thinkbook user
It's on 10.4.5 on a Thinkpad T41, PRO1000 ethernet, IBM a/b/g Atheros card. Both drivers appear during boot up but for some strange reason, only en0 appears in ifconfig. I try enabling airport and setting it up in Network Preferences, it takes the configuration but if I click on my built-in Ethernet configuration, the network preference pane crashes. Looking at /var/log/system.log, I'm getting these outputs /Resources/airport: Error: WirelessAssociate2() = 88001006 for network 106 Feb 26 14:56:49 localhost launchd: Server 0 in bootstrap 1103 uid 0: "/usr/sbin/configd"[564]: exited abnormally: Segmentation fault Feb 26 14:56:49 localhost configd[569]: com.apple.SystemConfiguration.DynamicPowerStep load failed Feb 26 14:56:49 localhost crashdump[568]: configd crashed Feb 26 14:56:49 localhost crashdump[568]: crash report written to: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/configd.crash.log Feb 26 14:56:50 localhost /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport: Error: password required for "106" not found in keychain Feb 26 14:56:51 localhost /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport: Error: WirelessAssociate2() = 88001006 for network 106 Any help would be appreciated. DiaboliK
find yourself a 10.4.3 disk from somewhere. the find the networkprefpane on the install disk and then install it to your 10.4.5. reboot. and it should work next time you try and access it. Thinkbook user
Thanks Diabolik Funny thing is that I also have 10.4.3 installed on a different partition and its doing the same thing. I remember fixing it in 10.4.3 by downloading a file online but I can't seem to find the link right now. I know we can't post files here but do yall have any hints on finding it? cpuguy06
I have 10.4.3 on mine now. You guys are saying that my Intel PRO/1000 should work? Or do I have to upgrade to 10.4.5. and then use something from 10.4.3?
