blkblt
I have the ASROCK Dual board from back in the 10.4.1 days, and I must say I'm really pleased with the performance and stability of 10.4.5: - I'm using the AppleIntegrated - The lsof command, which used to cause a kernel panic, doesn't. - The Networking system preferences panel, which used to crash all over the place, doesn't anymore. - After disabling beam sync, I now get an XBench score of 86.12 with a 3GHZ P4. - Skype works perfectly for me, as does a Logitech USB headset. - The whole system seems much faster than the beta versions, especially Rosetta apps and even iWork. - I just installed an Intel 8254 Chipset PWLA8390MT GigaBit card, and that works perfectly too! So thanks to all those involved in the project, and this forum, which helped me through many a problem. /blkblt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10268-running-perfectly-in-1045/ Share on other sites
urig-herb
I have the "hackintosh" aka "devkit light", too. I'm also on 10.4.5 now. Installation was a bit rough, but with the excellent guide by THE MAN I achieved it. Everything works fine. One question: Why do you disable beam sync, sure you get faster benchmarks, but is the animation (exposee etc as smooth as before?). Or is it only necessary for CRTs? Brywalker
I was running OK in 10.4.5. Here are the things I didn't like: 1) Video didn't work correctly right away, I had to replace a file and even then it didn't reconize the monitor correctly (worked perfect in 10.4.4). 2) Reports the CPU all wrong. There were a couple of other things that bugged me enough to go back to 10.4.4 - which works perfectly, btw. Congrats on your success though! Energy preferences no choice between Automatic, Performance, Low CPU as with 10.4.3.
