mahen.s9
Requirements - D-Link DWL-G510 Wireless PCI Adapter - IO80211Family.kext from 10.4.8 - Working Kalyway 10.5.2 Computer 1.) Obtain IO80211family.kext from the 10.4.8 Update from Apple (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1048updateintel.html) Hint: Open the file in Pacifist to obtain IO80211Family.kext 2.) Move IO80211Family.kext to /System/Library/Extensions 3.) Open Disk Utility and repair permissions 4.) Open Terminal and type the following: (what you actually type is in quotes) - type "sudo -s" - enter your password - type "cd /System/Library/Extensions" - type "chmod -R 755 IO80211Family.kext" - type "chown -R root:wheel IO80211Family.kext" - type "System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns" - type "kextload AirPortAtheros5424.kext" 5.) Restart your computer. 6.) Your network will not work at first. You have to go to System Preferences -> Network -> Assist Me -> Diagnostics -> Airport and follow from there and you'll be connected. (To make life easier, you can place /System/Library/CoreServices/Network Diagnostics.app in your dock) Congratulations. Special thanks to AM2 and Consolation. Also to the entire osX86 community in general. Tim Smart
You can get 10.4.8 from the Bay of Pirates (Google it), the green demon or even from the small nova... flashjazzcat
I've also just bought a DWL-G510 and it's a revision C board. I'm unsure how to proceed since I can't tell what chipset's on the card. The Sauce
Ok, so, I got the card working perfectly, the only thing that I'm having an issue with is that can't "Turn AirPort On" for whatever reason, the connection drops constantly, and the AirPort icon on my finder bar is just the blank Pie Slice even though I am connected. Any ideas on what to do to get that working???
