extremeae
Has anyone else noticed that Kalyway 10.5.2 now shows OEM in System Profiler under Model Identifier? I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and on the Model Identifier it says OEM, whereas when I reinstalled Kalyway 10.5.1, the Model Identifier says Mac Pro. Mac Pro is just better to the eyes than OEM. Is there a fix to get rid of the OEM?

ricki
it depends on the configuration you choose during instal
extremeae
it depends on the configuration you choose during instal I installed 10.5.2 the same way I installed 10.5.1, so I don't suppose that will change anything unless Kalyway changed something in their DVD release. yamcha
on mines it says P35-DS3R, and on the previous 10.5.1 it used to say Mac Pro..
Superhai
Kalyway changed something in their DVD release. It is like you found that to be unlikely??? Anyway, either you have to edit your SMBIOS data or you must change AppleSMBIOS.kext.

I know they changed a lot of stuff but I didn't expect this little things to change. I'll check your site for the modified kext. Where is the line that needs to be changed or edited? extremeae
I found back the original How to : http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/sy...profilermo.html I followed the steps and repaired permission but mine still shows OEM! Ack! This drives me nuts so I re-installed 10.5.1. I think I'll stick with 10.5.1 until a new update.
Baudouin
If you PM your System Profiler and a copy of your SPPlatformReporter.spreporter/Contents/Resorces/English.Iproj , with the elements you want to change, I will do it and will send you back the mods with the explanation with the successive steps . Thanks anyways. I re-installed 10.5.1 and will stick with it since I am having issues with the shutdown in 10.5.2. The shutdown causes OSX to crash in 10.5.2. I tried every version of 10.5.2 and they all crash OSX on shutdown. Update: Here's the Localizable.strings file. I tried it anyway I can to display the info correctly on my laptop but I was unsucessful with the editing. Nothing seems to change even after I finished editing the file with the correct info.
