Features and Functionality

Ok, let’s see what this app is packing. Cleaner Kit isn’t just a simple storage cleaner—it comes loaded with features beyond basic file deletion. From smart cleaning to security tools, it aims to cover all aspects of iPhone optimization. Here’s a breakdown of what it offers:

  • 🧹 Smart cleaning for photos and videos. The app automatically detects and sorts photos and videos into categories like similar, duplicates, screenshots, blurred, and with text. This makes it easy to remove unnecessary files without scrolling through your entire gallery.
  • 🤖 AI-powered sorting. Cleaner Kit categorizes media into People, Animals, Nature, Home, Vehicles, Urban, Devices, Sports, Food, Tools, Clothes, Hobbies, Docs, and Other. This AI-driven approach helps users quickly find and manage their files without guesswork.AI-powered sorting - Cleaner Kit
  • 🔒 Secret Space for private files. For those who want extra privacy, the app includes a Secret Space where you can securely store sensitive photos, videos, and contacts, keeping them hidden from prying eyes.
  • 🎥 Video compression. Instead of deleting large videos, you can use the video compressor to reduce file sizes while maintaining quality. This is especially useful for saving space without losing important clips.Video compression - Cleaner Kit
  • 📆 Calendar cleanup. Old and unnecessary events clutter up calendars over time. Cleaner Kit helps clear outdated appointments and reminders, keeping your schedule organized.
  • ⚡ Charging screen customization. The app adds a custom charging screen, letting you personalize animations and effects when plugging in your iPhone.
  • 🌐 Internet speed test and widgets. Cleaner Kit includes an internet speed test to check Wi-Fi and mobile data performance. It also offers home screen widgets for quick access to storage stats and system performance.
  • 🛡️ Security and system monitoring. Beyond storage cleanup, the app includes tools to check your iPhone’s RAM usage, CPU performance, Wi-Fi speed, and update status. This provides a complete picture of your device’s health.Security and system monitoring - Cleaner Kit

Verdict. As you can see, in terms of features, it’s a winner. Cleaner Kit packs a well-rounded set of tools. From AI-powered photo sorting to privacy protection and system monitoring, it covers all the essentials and then some. It’s rare to see an iPhone cleaner that offers this much functionality in one app.

It gets an easy 5 out of 5 from us in this department. Of course, the quantity of features isn’t everything—what really matters is how well they work. We’ll dig into their quality and performance later, but for now, it’s looking good. Cleaner Kit checks all the boxes when it comes to functionality.

Interface

Now, let’s see if the interface lives up to the same high standard.

Main menu - Cleaner Kit

The design is visually appealing, with pleasant colors and a compact layout that makes the app feel modern and polished. Navigation through menus feels smooth, and standard gestures—like swiping to minimize or go back—work as expected. However, while the app looks good, it’s not perfect.

One issue we noticed is the lack of clear boundaries between different functional blocks. This can make the interface feel a bit overwhelming, especially for new users. The layout could benefit from more separation between sections to improve clarity.

We also didn’t particularly like the group display. When scanning photos, the app sorts them into groups, but there’s no compact preview of all photos within a group. If a group contains many images, you have to scroll endlessly. A better way to preview multiple photos at once would make the experience much smoother.

Main features - Cleaner Kit

This is definitely something the developer should fix in a future update. A more intuitive layout and a compact group preview would go a long way in improving usability.

Verdict. It gets a 4 out of 5 in the looks department. As we said, the interface is visually appealing, but a few issues bring it down one point from a perfect score. If the developers improve layout clarity and add a better way to preview grouped photos, the interface could easily earn a 5 out of 5 in the future.

Cleanup Results

To test Cleaner Kit’s effectiveness, we used an iPhone from one of our team members as our test subject. The device had all kinds of files—thousands of photos, duplicate videos, screenshots, and cluttered contacts—basically, a real-world mess you’d find on any iPhone after months (or years) of regular use.

Not everyone has time to sort through files manually, so the automatic cleanup feature is a must. If an app doesn’t have it, that’s an instant 0 points in our book. Cleaner Kit does offer automatic cleanup, and it works well, so it gets a full 5 points here.

Smart cleaning - Cleaner Kit

How much space did It free up? Cleaner Kit identified a huge amount of storage waste on our test iPhone:

  • Similar photos: 3,922 images (21.3 GB)
  • Similar videos: 95 videos (10.6 GB)
  • Total cleanup potential: 4,145 items (32.2 GB!)

Total cleanup potential - Cleaner Kit

We were particularly impressed by the “best photo” selection feature. Cleaner Kit correctly identified the best photo from a group about 95% of the time, even in cases where shots were similar but had subtle differences. It handled complex shots well and made solid choices in terms of lighting, focus, and composition.

Similars - Cleaner Kit

The Similar Video feature also worked better than expected. Unlike other apps, which often struggle with near-identical video detection, Cleaner Kit successfully grouped truly similar videos—a feature we haven’t seen done this well in most other iPhone cleaners.

Verdict. Cleaner Kit delivers on its promises. The automatic cleanup works, the AI-powered selection is quite accurate, and it successfully frees up a ton of storage. That said, there are some areas for improvement. Some photos were categorized as similar even when they had different subjects, poses, or lighting conditions. In rare cases, a group included a photo with an object and another where the object was missing. While these issues aren’t dealbreakers, they do show that the app’s AI could use some fine-tuning.

Despite that, we decided to give it a full 5 out of 5. A 4 would be too low, and we don’t want to use something like 4.7, so let’s just call it a 5.

Scan Speed

Now, let’s talk about scan speed—how fast is it? Sadly, this is where Cleaner Kit’s winning streak takes a hit.

The scanning process is very slow. It took 5 minutes and 8 seconds to complete the scan on our test iPhone, which is significantly longer than some competing apps. Five minutes might not sound too bad to you, but what if your iPhone has hundreds of gigabytes of files? The more clutter you have, the longer you’ll wait. For users with massive photo libraries or years of stored videos, scanning could take a really really long time.

That said, one plus is that the scan doesn’t get interrupted when you switch apps or lock the screen, unlike some other cleaners.

Verdict. This is the biggest drawback of Cleaner Kit. While the cleanup results are great, the slow scan time brings down the experience. We give it a 2 out of 5.

Pricing and Free Version

Cleaner Kit is free to download, but sadly, like most cleanup apps, many features require a paid subscription. It offers in-app purchases with prices ranging from $4.99 to $6.99, depending on the subscription plan. The app does allow free cleanup in exchange for watching ads. You can delete 20 files per ad, which means to clean up 3,922 files, you’d need to watch ads 197 times. That’s a lot.

Free version - Cleaner Kit

On the bright side, almost any feature is accessible after watching an ad, so you basically have to decide between paying with your wallet or paying with your sanity. A few ads for small cleanups is fine, but if you’re trying to free up gigabytes of storage, the process quickly becomes exhausting.

Verdict. Cleaner Kit is worth the price. However, some users might be disappointed with the limitations of the free version. While it technically allows cleanup without paying, watching hundreds of ads to clear a full library is far from practical. For that reason, we’re giving 5/5 for value for money since the paid version delivers on its promises, but only 3/5 for the free tier because of its impractical limitations. That brings the final score for this section to 4 out of 5.

Final Score

Now, let’s wrap it up with our overall final rating—how does Cleaner Kit stack up?

Breakdown of scores:

  • Features & Functionality: 5/5 – Packed with tools that actually work.
  • 🎨 Interface: 4/5 – Visually appealing, but navigation could improve.
  • 🗑️ Cleanup Results: 5/5 – Highly effective at freeing up space.
  • Scan Speed: 2/5 – Too slow for our liking.
  • 💰 Pricing & Free Version: 4/5 – Paid version is worth it, free tier is limited.

Well, if we combine all the scores from the previous sections, we get an average final score of 4 out of 5.

Cleaner Kit is a well-rounded iPhone cleaner that does its job better than most competitors. It’s feature-packed and accurate. The main drawbacks are slow scan speed and the limitations of the free version, but if you’re willing to pay for premium features and don’t mind waiting for scans, it’s a top-tier choice.

Would we recommend it? Yes—if you need a powerful iPhone cleaner and don’t mind waiting for scans or opting for the paid version.

  • Feature-packed
  • Accurate cleanup results (95% of the time)
  • Excellent best-photo selection
