temis
Could you, AMD 64 x2 users confirm that SSE3 capability is properly detected by 10.4.4 at boot time and/or in system profiler This SSE3 feature doesn't show on my rig (K8N Neo4 Platinum nforce4) with 10.4.4, it showed in 10.4.3 Thanks
korhojoa
Holy sex batman! You got 10.4.4 installed on a X2? What X2 is it? Mine's a +3800, reckon there's a CPUID thingy error again? Wanna give me some steps with which you installed it? What did you use to install it then?

lnsemsf
Could you tell me what method you used to get it working? I've got the same setup and am having 0 luck. I will tell you in one of the boot CDs when it was listing supported instructions, I had SSE2 listed but not SSE3.

lnsemsf
I tried the 10.4.4 instructions and couldnt get it to boot the 10.4.4 drive. It would never finish installing .4 from .3, right about at the end it would close, boot up terminal, then boot a blue screen with a mouse, and lock up there. i tried booting back in to .3 and finishing the steps and setting the .4 partition active and no luck. Did it just work perfect for you the first time or did you have issues? I'm not an idiot but i've spent hours on this and am nowhere closer than I was when I started. I think it's bad karma. temis
it happened to me too at the begginning ... 1. try disk utility and erase + verify 10.4.4 target disk or partition 2. in disk utility use the image menu and check the dmg dvd install disk 3. if dmg is ok, make a new copy of the /Packages folder you will be using to start install. lnsemsf
I tried it yet again and get the exact same errors. Right at the end when it's running the installer script it quits to terminal and i get mDNSresponder: mDNSplatformrawtime: this_mach_absolute_time mDNSresponder: mDNSplatformrawtime: last_mach_absolute_time 15 times, and then a terminal prompt to log on, but i can't seem to log on to anything. Did this happen to you, because it happens for me EVERY time and i get the same result, a non bootable 10.4.4 partition. Jesus all I want 10.4.4 for is to use skype, what a serious pain in the ass for such a stupid little program.

The installer seems to quit abruptly. Get a login message, but doesn't accept the real login and pass. Apparently the OS is installed, but not blessed. The funny thing is the OSInstall.custom in my "/Volumes/1044/var/log". It says "Native install completed 2006-02-28 14:32:12 +0000." If I launch the install the DVD image mounted, I get this error when the installer quits. " disk1s3 media not present ", doesn't do that when using a real DVD. Apparently the image is ejected. Getting also segfault errors with DVD install. Well, can't go over 10.4.3 for now. Another oddity. I have 1GB of memory, but OS 10.4.3 reports 2GB. Maybe a spatio temporal distortion.
