Burning leopard DMG in Windows XP

I want to install Leopard on my MacBook. The thing is, all my macs have combo drives. The only DVD+R DL drive I have is in my PC.

Does anyone know how to burn a DMG file on XP? I was thinking either converting it using Disk Utility to ISO or using MagicISO for XP (http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-features.htm) which is supposed to suport DMG.

Now, I do video editing as a hobby and when I author Double layer DVD Videos, I have to set a flag in the video stream which tells the DVD player to switch from layer 1 to layer 2. Do I need to do anything like that for a data double layer disc?

p.s. I know i can always do the strip out xcode trick to make leopard fit on a single layer, but whenever I try it, my MacBook will boot the installer but once it gets to the blue background, it gives me a spinning beachball and shuts itself down.

This is what I did to install Tiger on a G4 that didn't have the right drive to boot from:

Transfer the DMG file to your macbook and mounting it (make sure you write protect it) and then restoring it to an empty partition (a big enough USB drive for example) and then booting from that 'restored boot DVD/ installation DVD" might work for installing Leopard too!

Yep, that's what I did, only without any external drives or such.

If your data is backed up (shouldn't be needed unless you screw up :D), and you know your way around a terminal:

To Repair Leopard Image & Burn It <Try This>

01. get leopard

02. get MacDrive 7

03. get HDD or (Virtual Drive)

04. Put Leopard on da HDD

05. open MAcDrive and select repair partion

and burn to a Blank Disc And it Might work, I try myself but it requires alot of VRAM to extract to da HDD :):D

I had the same problem as you.

I had the dmg on my mini. I used disk utility to convert it to cdr. Then I changed the name to iso.

After that I networked the mini to my friends PC and put the iso file on his computer. Then we were able to use nero and burn the disk image to a dual layer dvd.
