Anyone with Asus P5PE-VM ?

 

10.4.5 > 10.4.8 update

 

Everything works except:

 

Sound comes out mic jack, network not working, wouldn't start with skge.kext

 

LAN Marvell 88E8001 GB LAN

first. thanks to everyone for a brilliant forum!

 

i have the same problems with this mobo

 

except i get no sound at all.

 

using: MAC OS X 10.4.8 Intel Only Jas re-seed (SSE3 Only - NO AMD) with Pentium D 820

 

any ideas?

 

also the about this mac window is not working. it makes the whole screen blue for a second while it quits all my open applications....

 

i fixed system profiler using colonel_system_profiler_patch_1.1

 

 

 

off topic: how do i find vendor id and device id for my onboard sound using only os x or any program running on os x? i only have os x installed...

open terminal

 

sudo -s (password)

 

cp -R (drag and drop the file and remove the / at the end) /System/Library/Extensions/

 

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

 

rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

 

reboot

I have the same Mobo.

Using JaS 10.4.8 DVD Re-seed

Package installed: JaS.10.4.8.Combo.Update, INTEL.SSE3.semthex and 10.4.4.Loginwindow

Use skge.kext.02d.zip

 

The sound is not ok, speech produce only first word, try with Vicki. Sounds like cracking.

It was works fine with 10.4.4 DVD installer. So trying to move the AppleAC97Audio.kext from 10.4.4, still doesn't work.

 

Can someone help me with this?

your not actually coping anything you need a SOURCE and a TARGET to copy, the message with the usage tells you this.

you need to have a file to copy and then, what you have there is where you want to copy it to.

you need to extract the file you downloaded in the above link, put it somewhere, maybe on your desktop then do:

cp -R /path/to/desktop/file /System/Library/Extensions/skge.kext

notice the SOURCE and then the TARGET.

I'm using the P5PE-VM mobo and onboard sound works (from the mic in ) and onboard ethernet works using skge.kext. I used the AppleAzalia from the JaS 10.4.8 DVD and the skge.kext came from http://www.osxcm.cn/download/ - quite a resourceful page actually, I'd like to thank the page owner but it's in chinese, I guess.
