ovidoi
I greet you, my name is Ovidiu Comanescu, I have a little misunderstanding, I have a system with Hackintosh Yosemite 10.10.1 and works well on a configuration with a CPU I3 530 2,93 GHz, DH55tc intel motherboard, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 210 1024MB, everything goes correct, but acpi boot cpu shows me only 4 cores active and 12 disabled, I attached a picture, mention that all Apple OS 10.5 to 10.10 since we have tried showed me 16 cores. Please tell me if you can turn the other core hardware or software or physically disabled from the factory. but if you are physically disabled as they recognize the os x? thank you in advance
kvonlinee
It maybe a cosmetic issue, the cpu core i3-530 has total 2 core, 4 threat. This is a actual intel webpage info, with the osx on top, it may show the mis info. It could be from smbios model you put in. Good luck.
ovidoi
the other systems I installed os x, the processor correctly displayed with the same kit, Core 2 Duo or Core duo than tread Links to this processor i3 any SMBIOS make everything so I look 16 with only 4 cores active. I met Core 2 Duo 2 active and 2 disabled. I wonder factory tests on all active chips are pleasant but maybe depending on results and how are stable, set the processor type, I3, I5 or I7 with or without HT. kvonlinee
The cosmetic tweak can be done in fake id like in clover config.plist. One time I worked in friend computer, the cpu is core 2 quadcore something, it is show up as cpu xeon. So this case, system profile was inject wrong one, nothing done to tweak system about cpu. ovidoi
Thanks, I mention that the first post processor is detected by "kernel" I understand that something is wrong, I looked in clover bootlog and look what I found when booting: "0:100 0:100 MemLog inited, TSC freq: 29259954070:100 0:000 LegacyRegion2: Chipset/proc: 0x004080860:100 0:000 Core i7 processors (PAM 0x40-0x47)0:100 0:000 Test PAM1=(0x41=11, 0x5a=00, 0x81=0B, 0x91=13) at chipset 004080860:100 0:000 , Install = Success0:117 0:017 BiosVideoDriverBindingStart!0:117 0:000 BiosVideoCheckForVbe0:117 0:000 EdidOverride not found0:172 0:055 Edid1-0:191 0:018 Edid0+ then to detect it as correct I3 " CPU Vendor = 756E6547 Model=2065210:025 0:000 The CPU not supported turbo10:025 0:000 BrandString = Intel® Core i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz10:025 0:000 FSBFrequency=133MHz DMIvalue=533330kHz10:025 0:000 Corrected FSBFrequency=133MHz10:025 0:000 Vendor/Model/Stepping: 0x756E6547/0x25/0x210:025 0:000 Family/ExtFamily: 0x6/0x010:025 0:000 MaxDiv/MinDiv: 22.0/910:025 0:000 Turbo: 0/0/0/010:025 0:000 Features: 0xBFEBFBFF10:025 0:000 Threads: 410:025 0:000 Cores: 210:025 0:000 FSB: 133 MHz10:025 0:000 CPU: 2926 MHz10:025 0:000 TSC: 2926 MHz10:025 0:000 PIS: 532 MHz" then last Patch table: SSDT DH55TC 16:741 0:000 SSDT len = 0x10216:741 0:000 Drop tables from Xsdt, SIGN=XXXX TableID= Length=016:741 0:000 Xsdt has tables count=616:741 0:000 corrected XSDT length=8416:922 0:181 CPUBase=0 and ApicCPUBase=1 ApicCPUNum=1616:922 0:000 Using custom MaxMultiplier 22 instead of automatic 2216:922 0:000 Maximum control=0x1616:922 0:000 P-States: min 0x9, max 0x1616:922 0:000 SSDT with CPU P-States generated successfully16:922 0:000 SSDT with CPU C-States generated successfully By this I conclude that this is a test I7 which did not meet certain conditions and have disabled the other core. It is known that the weakest processors are closer to the edge of the silicon plate and is best as downtown. I do not worry, the system is very stable and runs very well, in SMBIOS is passed IMAC 11.2 sk corresponding I3 1156. Thank you for your answers, if anybody knows how can modify and can be activated and the other cores, if possible.
ovidoi
Hello, I tried all possibilities until I messed clover and chameleon bootloader, whatever we did everything as you can see, the conclusion is that the vanilla kernel sees native 16-core, 4 active and 12 inactive. Thanks for the replies, I will look for other possibilities.
jamiethemorris
I'm not sure if I would worry about it too much. What does system information display the processor as? Run a multithreaded application like geekbench and look in activity monitor to see if 4 "cores" are working. Since it's a dual core with ht, as long as it shows 4 cores working you should be getting the optimal performance from your CPU and it's only a cosmetic issue. Compare the geekbench score to others with the same CPU and verify that the performance is roughly the same. Lastly, install hwmonitor with the fakesmc plugins if you haven't already (Slice's and Kozlek's both work fine) and check to see of the CPU frequency is stepping up and down. ovidoi
Hello, I'm not having problems with, why are detected cores disabled, any SMBIOS configuration, kernel and bootloader other settings, why in bootlog first test done at I7 says successfully installed "0:100 0:000 Core i7 processors (PAM 0x40-0x47)0:100 0:000 Test PAM1=(0x41=11, 0x5a=00, 0x81=0B, 0x91=13) at chipset 004080860:100 0:000 , Install = Success" then to detect it as i3 530 "0:025 0:000 BrandString = Intel® Core™ i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz10:025 0:000 FSBFrequency=133MHz DMIvalue=533330kHz 10:025 0:000 Vendor/Model/Stepping: 0x756E6547/0x25/0x210:025 0:000 Family/ExtFamily: 0x6/0x0" Please if you can explain to me the detection mechanism, such as those cores disabled. In the past 10 years ago if not more, in Tualatin P3 was pentium could change, sticking or detaching smd capacitors have been and some AMD processors. Why do I say this, then working in a IT service company and we changed and running smoothly, now I'm not aware of the software and hardware that much. 14 years ago debug and Intel PII 233 or and PIII, easily loosen the cabinet, replace the filter smd main supply and operate like new. Slice
The number of processors that you see in kernel.log related to DSDT: Processor section. You can modify it manually or leave as is.
ovidoi
Hello, in DSDT is not set anything related to CPU, the boot loader are only two cores, in clover configurator to ACPI section than c-states and p-states, in section CPU anything, no need, need not checked DH55TC fixed than AppleRTC and Asus AICPUPM, BOOT section npci = 0x2000 kext-dev-mode = 1, Load video bios, SMBIOS = IMAC11.2, even if ACPI section mark off or not, just work and very stable. So I not set the extra cores, only 2, it is seen near Yosemite Native 10.10. and update to 10.10.1, I just installed sound and ethernet drivers. Everything I have written there is not the kernel.log only boot.log bootlog clover.rtf bootlog console.rtf

ovidoi
Nothing set in DSDT on the CPU, install any bootloader, make any configuration, any make, kernel (vanilla) I see all 16 cores, 4 active and 12 inactive anyway, I do not bother with that, can Santa Claus will help me to do an upgrade to i7 sk1156 and another module 4G ram. Happy Holidays to all !!!
