Chasy86
I've so far tried three different methods for creating a bootable Yosemite installer, with varying failures: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298753-boot-usb-os-x-yosemite-chameleon/ Result: I get stuck half way through boot, with 'Waiting for root device'. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/uploads/monthly_07_2014/post-1188792-0-44397500-1406549178.jpg http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299865-clover-v2k-r2780-special-edition-yosemite-beta/ Result: Is not even recognized as a proper boot device. I only get the message: 'Insert proper boot device and press any key to continue' http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298521-easy-yosemite-1010-usb-installer-updated-public-beta/ Result: Is not even recognized as a proper boot device. I only get the message: 'Insert proper boot device and press any key to continue' What am I doing wrong here? Hardware specs in my signature, and for your information I'm using a 16GB Transcend USB 3.0 stick as boot device. Any help would be greatly appreciated, would love to give Yosemite a shot! wolfie81
If it helps I too am yet to have success with Chameleon. I got Yosemite working but its too much work and I can't get basic features like sleep/wake up using bluetooth working. Im going to try the above method. Agostino9446
Yes...you have to link the kernel in o.c.b.p...it must look like this:System/Library/Kernels...only this
Chasy86
Alright, I have now gotten past the installer (had to use -x, otherwise I would get a kernel panic). However, when booting from my freshly installed drive, I can´t seem to avoid a kernel panic. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1200x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>/System/Library/Kernels/Kernel</string> <key>SMBIOS</key> <string>/Volumes/Yosemite Beta/Extra/SMBios.plist</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>LoginToLion</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist>
Onixs
install nullcpupowermanagement. How? Do your part, google on how to boot from your usb installer and install that kext
Chasy86
Thanks, Onixs. Having some trouble getting back into the installer (display goes black after verbose boot all of a sudden), but as soon as I'm in the installer I'll copy over the kext and let you know how it goes. Chasy86
Stuck at 'Missing Bluetooth...' now, trying to work out my graphics issues. At least I'm making progress! Hm, seems my graphics card is having some issues. Tried combinations of -x, GraphicsEnabler etc, but booting stops at 'Missing Bluetooth...'. Any ideas how to solve it?
