First, let's see if this is really the problem!
Click on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen and select About This Mac> More Info> System Report, then scroll down the pop-up window and click in extensions at the list located in the left. Search for a next called X86PlatformPlugin.kext: if it's not loaded, then you need to set PM up.
All the best!

To: Changerrs. (maybe too late, but there is others too who read this)
old school atx style cases. This is irritating. Very irritating.
New model Xeon not need ecc -memory. Dual thunderbolt gigabyte motherboard
can use xeon with the last bios.
If You are not hurry, maybe You should wait haswell and 10.9 ?
T -.-
You have choice separate video card anyway ? Why pay video inside processor ?
i5-3570k -> Intel Xeon E3-1240 V2 ? Xeon has hyper threading.
Asus GeForce GTX 670 Direct CU mini should works out " of the box", and seems
to be reasonable size. Too many oversized video card block lower disk places inold school atx style cases. This is irritating. Very irritating.
