I'm wondering what apps can trip a hack up, so far in my new hack I can use iTunes, iCloud and the app store. DVD player complains about my usb dvd drive (No built in drive).
Are there any others I should be trying?

DVD player will complain about USB DVD drives on real macs - you have to use VLC or something similar.
So far on a retail install I haven't found a single app that hasn't worked , or at least the success rate is about the same as on a real mac. The magic of the hackintosh

Not true, managed to do this without.
I guess they fixed it then. Originally you had to run
sudo nvram 8BE4DF61-93CA-11d2-AA0D-00E098032B8C:BootCurrent=1
when installing PD on Lion. Good to know it's not needed anymore because i had a startup script adding it at boot.
