I solved the brightness problem.
It's a known issue. A lot of people have this issue.
It can be solved by put the monitor in stop and then awake.
After monitor awake the brightness is at maximum and can be correctly adjusted in system preferences.
In mountain lion i set a screen active corner to "stop monitor" option.
After each boot, I go for a second in the corner of the screen with the mouse, put monitor in stop, get out, and the brightness is perfect, one second!

Hi! Today I'll not at home all day.

I summarize the W.I.P status:

Attempt to install OSX Mountain Lion on A56CM, K56CM (maybe S56CM)

Working:

- HD4000 installed by injection of an EFI String
- GT635M disabled by removing kexts (not supported, must be disabled)
- DSDT added (tnx to Lejenk)
- Brightness Control (with brightness fix)
- Ethernet Lan RTL8111/8168B works with lnx2mac's kext
- Battery works (tnx to Lejenk)


Not Working:

- 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller
- Sleep / Stop / Wake up
- SpeedStep (start at x8 but not more than x18) (Not more than 1,78ghz, native cpu is 2,39)
- TrackPad
- Access to Applestore (known issue but no method work)
- Webcam

Tnx iFire, it works after i delete ApplePs2TrackPad as suggested in readme.

Only basic function works, is possible to get multi gesture function to work? (very very very bad english for me )

Thank you for the post, I am also about to try to make my asus s56cm with osx.

works :

- Brightness Control with touch FN (But works with "preference system")
- 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller  
- SpeedStep (1.7GHz instead of 2.5ghz)
- Wifi (It didn't matter I have buy ATHEROS AR5B93)


Where is the webcam kext ??

Thank you for your help, my ultrabook is almost perfect.
I feel it hotter than windows, as if the gtx 635m was not 100% disabled and I have only 2 hours of battery instead of 4:30 hours

check your turbo boost if is working!!

you can use hwmonitor and geek bench

But the pc is very fast. My problem is the sound ...

No to so fast, the difference is between 1789mhz and 3000mhz

With geekbench i score 4200. Not good!

I remove the turbo boost cpu was at 83 ° C without doing anything.
Looks like the 635m is not really deactivated, it heats ...
