okies all these hacked kexts that I've tried, either don't work or they only let the trackpad work as a mouse. which is horrible. I've seen some that had apple ps/2 trackpad kext inside but the info plist in those only listed a regular alps (no multi touch) some other and then synaptic and well the synaptics the multi finger swipes and everything were well defined. it seems like I'm crap out of luck with this one all the googling I did and I cannot find one elan ps2-smartpad that works as a trackpad.
Does anyone else have an élan smarted and has had more luck

Hello terramir,
i am in the same boat! My Asus X73S Laptop has an Elantech Touchpad too and it is only detected as a mouse and so i don t have the ability of 2-finger scrolling.
Do you have any success in enabling this feature?
I read that in Linux it is possible to do.
With several versions of VoodooPS2 and the PrefPane i had no luck :-(
