After re try installation of lion,i have a new KP.

I see that the processor,that are what I can do ?

A new dv6 61XX user is here>>> ;)

Using DV6 6185ex
i7-2630QM
8GB RAM
750 GB HDD
6770M (2GB)

Installing is fine. no problems with me in it.

First boot using the
cpus=1 PCIRootUID=1 arch=x86_64 GraphicsEnabler=no DSDT=yes -v -f
is also okay

After creating the user and logging in
I copied the extra folder and installed the boot loader.


Here the problem comes
After restarting i get boot0: error < that's not much of a problem

Using the USB Flash drive i tried to boot again but all i get is

System up time in nanoseconds


Re-installed it 5 times without a susses
Any ideas about what i have done wrong :censored2: ?

Now re installing for the sixth time :wacko: , if i faced the error again i will post a pic of it.

No. I provide them both and had the same problems on reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del or try booting with a USB. Black Screen. Anyway I'll try again.


can we do best?
I have same problem with
100%_HP_DV6_6XXX_sp54024_NWL_ByCamiloml
so i did my mods into my fd file.. but
how can I flash a fd file .. insyde give me error.. file is 2,5meg insted of bin original that is 4!

For my 6053er - to get rid of all kernel panics -v -f is enough usually, but if it's not also add "cpus=1 arch=i386" and also "busratio=20"(if you're 2630qm user).
About the bootloader part:
I had the same issue, the thing is that i installed bootloader from mac os itself - and after that i got this error, so i downloaded iatkos - and installed only the chameleon rc4 bootloader from cd(u can find it under "utilities") - after that changed boot file to new chimera file and that's it - bootloader problem fixed.

then applying Speedstepper patcher
then you can reboot without nullcpu .. disabler.
but ONLY in x86_64.. if you start with arch=i386 you have KP

but.. isn't it better?

I cannot post mine.. becaue the utility patch the kext starting from the PC's conditions..
so go there..

follow istructions as mine
boot with nullcpu (because otherwise you can't boot !)
launch it exactly as the user suggest
remove nullcpu.

and magically you have sleep etc.. etc..

appleworm, I downloaded your dmg (in windows, if that makes a difference) and it is "not recognized" by disk utility

I have dv6-6077er laptop with same specs 6090ef (Intel Core i7-2630QM, 6 GB DDR3, 1G AMD Radeon HD 6770M).
So, i use the .dmg from first post and install mac os on this laptop.
I'am using appleworm's DSDT.aml and modified mach_kernel from this topic.
Then i update mac os to 10.7.2(11C74).
I don't know why, but sound not working with AppleHDA. I delete AppleHDA, install VoodooHDA 2.7.3 and now i have sound :(
Then i apply SpeedStepper patch, following this topic and it works fine.

    Now i boot from usb-flash and there choose my lion partition, but it so uncomfortable.
Anyone know how to solve this problems?

I start with key usb bootable (chaméléon),because i don't have key usb 8 Gigas.

Install different bootloaders, but can't fix this error. and after installing chimera 1.5.4 i can boot only with "cpus=1" flag :(

Can't plug second monitor. I think hdmi don't working, but on ubuntu i use second monitor with HD3000 over hdmi.

I installed from a flash drive after restoring from a DVD. I believe the only kernel flags I used were cpus=1 and GraphicsEnabler=no. Try these in various combinations and see if they help: busratio=12 -v -f PCIRootUID=1 arch=x86_64. If arch=x86_64 doesn't work, try arch=i386. The flash drive boots up the installer every time for me, it was more difficult to get it to boot after the install. Good luck.

thanks for your reply, i have Intel Ethernet and Intel WiFi, i am thinking that maybe the laptops that are able to boot and install are those that have a Realtek Ethernet and WiFi, do you have realtek?

So after long time of googling and readin topics - i figured out that the mac os just get's 1card to work, by default we have switchable graphics - and mac os recognizes first of the gpus - intel hd. To make 6770m work we need to disable intel hd by disabling the switchable graphics in bios. Anyway our old bioses doesn't have this feature, but hp did announcment:

And putted new driver that supports switchable gpu:

It should add switchable graphics mode to our laptops, anyway after updating my bios - it still doesn't have this option!!! I contacted hp support online - they didn't helped me properly so gave me a local hp support number to call - anyway the support number is available from monday - so on monday i'll report the problem - and hopefully we'll get our bios fixed and as a result get the 6770m to work!

Yes. That's the one I'm using (unlocked Menu+no WL) but it' s dangerous.

Ocasionally checks the signature and briks. Continues to operate after the CMOS reset but...

Does it have an unlocked option of "switchable graphics mode"? disabling it could make our 6770m work

hi,
i don't want to be off-topic , but i just want to let you notice that i7-2630qm cpu gives 9400/9500 geekbench under windows7... so there is something wrong in ALL i7-2630qm speedstep/powermanagement since its performance gives 6900 under osx with current methods. A new method is needed for such kind of CPUs . I have another laptop with i7-2630qm with the same identical geekbench result of 6900 under osx and 9400 under win7...
We need some expert to clarify / fix this!
