How can I access DSDT and make some changes?

What should I do to make these changes? I mean should prepare myself to grab some info from Windows 7

I have hp dv4-1030ee, and I can't figure out the way I should follow to implement my own method in installing drivers and fixing hardware's issues!

Thanks,

I was able to get all of my USB ports recognized and working everytime with the DSDT file (thank you for sharing the code). I am however unable to get my built in webcam working. It is a Logitech. System Profiler shows the specs as:

Product ID: 0x09b8
Vendor ID: 0x046d (Logitech Inc.)
Version: 60.51
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Location ID: 0xfd500000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500

Does anybody have the same webcam working or just a different type, like Suyin or something?

I also have a DV7 with Ati Radeon HD 4530. Unfortunately I do not have a model number because it is not written on it.

Ati Radeon HD 4530 works well without QE via RadeonHD.kext. Resolution is 1600x900 according to Display menu but I suppose that the real one is 1440x900.
Attached File  RadeonHD.kext.zip   167.66KB   29 downloads
If you want to use it, remove any Radeon kexts and injectors...

USB speed is very low when I'm trying to copy files on my PQI U339XT 32Gb USB Flash Drive. For example it takes over 4 hours to make a copy of 8Gb.

BTW I'm using iAtkos v7 (10.5.7).

Thanks to this DSDT I can get my DV7 1211tx to boot.Graphics work extremely well or even perfect (9600m gt) BUT l don't have USB support unless I enter in chameleon "USBBusFix=Yes". sound support unless I install voodooHDA but I'd prefer to find a more vanilla way of enabling it, and I don't have keyboard or mouse/track-pad support unless I use a USB mouse. Mammoth has a great tutorial and method to installing SL on a HP laptop.

Have a look http://www.insanelym...howtopic=221653

Hello,

I have the hp pavilion dv7-1196eg with the hardware mentioned in my signature..

I already installed 10.6.1 (yeah, need to update...).

The problem is that I can't enable AHCI in bios, so that's why it doesn't boot.

Currently, 10.5.8 is installed and works perfect, as round as windows 7..

(there are 2 hard drives in this laptop, the first one is with 2 partitions: 10.5.8 retail & 10.6.1 which doesnt boot; hard disc 2 is with windows 7).

Please help me ^^

Hello,
...
Please help me ^^

I had the same issues installin 1.6 on my HP. 10.5 installation went fine, but 10.6 failed.

1. Upgrade your laptop bios to the latest
2. Use some DSDT patching mode to make valid DSDT file.
3. Use Chamelon RC4 bootloader wit fakesmc.kexts

Pleaase check http://osx86.sojugarden.com/installer/ for additional files.

Please check also http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/ for booting the installation media

You have to create hardware list for first. Then based on this list you can select desired patces and drivers.

Updated on July 22, 2010.

This guide helps to install Mac OS X 10.6.4 on your HP Pavilion DV7 laptop. Please verify your laptop hardware before making any changes. This guide does not work for AMD processor and Intel graphics cards. Intel processor and nVidia graphics card are required.

I got the OS installed but have yet to be able to get USb working at all. When I look in system profiler it has nothing showing up in under the usb tab. Any and all help would be appreciated. I have the HP Pavilion DV7-1279WM it is the core 2 duo and Nvidia 9600gt graphics. I will provide any other information needed to help get the usb fixed, I am a newbie at this so you may need to do a step by step walk through.
