MacBook? Is it a go?

Hey all!

I recently sold my MacBook Pro because it was just wayyy too warm. I wanted to wait until Apple fixed their problems.

Now that the MacBooks are out, I'm considering this one as a MBP replacement. I've read about some problems with the MB, but, in general, would you say that the heat/whine/wi-fi problems are fixed? Should I get one or wait for a later revision of the MBP?

Thanks!

Heat is less of an issue because of the plastic case providing insulation - i suspect the cpu runs just as hot though. Since the macbook also has a gma graphics there probably isn't the same heat coming from the gpu.

From what I'm reading (check the Ars review), the MacBooks do get fairly hot, so if it was a concern with your MBP I would probably wait until August/September for the cooler running Merom chips to come out. (That's what I'm doing at least)

I think my next and full jump to the Mac world is a Macbook. I have come to realize I like to be mobile and set in different parts of the house. I have an old PowerMac G3 that is ok now (got 3 GHZ Windows machine to), but I am eager to go Mac and stay Mac. BUT, I would not want to buy either MB or MBP with heat issues. I have a eMachine Win XP laptop my wife uses for college and we share it in the bedroom to surf the net and stuff. I see all the gripes on the GMA950. Who cares? The MB is not for 3D at all. What I do:

Internet stuff, etc.

Copy cds, make data cds, music cds.

Copy dvds.

Edit audio like in Goldwave on the PC.

Capture video.

That is it (editing large audio files around 500 megs and capturing video is apart of my unusual hobby :D ). The MB is way powerful for that and I don't need 3D. But I need to wait till the MB is running cooler. I just don't get Apple and all this heat problems. *shrugs*
