I succeed to boot up with single user mode from USB memory.

From my error message, I noticed that the operation at #8 is very important.
So I copy IOATA and IOUSB from other OSX machine, and open kext package and
overwrite 2 plugin kexts in direct.

Now I chown-ing all over system, then I would try to reboot by multi-user mode.

Once I boot up multi-user mode, but I cannot change all settings of OSX system.
And it works very slow. (This may be come from the owner of all file, all files of
the system is root, I suppose.)

Then I try to install all the steps in one time.

-equipments
Intel mac
16GB USB memory
VAIO P
Leopard DVD (10.5.0)

-steps
Format USB memory by GUID partitioning and HFS+
Install Leopard into USB memory by Intel Mac
Intel Mac reboot from USB memory
update system to 10.5.7
Intel Mac reboot from USB memory
Install kexts (below)
Install chameleon 1.0.11
Overwrite "Boot" file by ryuu123's Boot
Run DiskUtility to make all permissions normal.
Add com.apple.Boot.plist some words. (cpus=1, -v -f, Timeout)
Shutdown Intel Mac
Put USB memory into VAIO P
Boot from USB memory


-Installed kexts

--via kext helper (all of them at one time)
AppleACPIPS2nub
ApplePS2Controller(for ANSI key order)
AppleSMBIOS
dsmos
INtelCPUPMDisabler
SMBIOSEnabler
UUID
VoodooBattery
VoodooHDA
VoodooPower
PCIFix

--overwrite inside plugin kexts by hand
IOATAFamily (AppleIntelPIIXATA)

-result : failed
Stop bootup before initializing USB.

boot up message:
AppleUSBEHCI : unable to initiallize UIM

This may be happen because of the order of the installing kexts.
So I would appliciate if someone could tell me better order to install kexts.

IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext  stops USB detection.
VoodooBattery, VoodooHDA, VoodooPower also stops USB detection, so UIM error.

So I don't need to install these kext.

Bluetooth seems working fine. Nintendo Wii remote controller can connect via BT.

Hi all,

I succeed to install basic system into USBmemory to use the
way maccosmo make.  Unfortunately now I cannot control sound
and its volumes. My first challange, I got a sound from speaker.

Talking about installing kext files, I list below only with my trial.
For the better environments and stabilities, I would appliciate
if some experts around this board give me hints or suggestions.

- First, minimal install after update system.
PCIFix, ApplePS2Controller, AppleACPIPS2Nub
ATAPIIX, USBEHCI (to install into pre-installed kexts by hand)

- After fully wake up OS X
dsmos, SMBIOSEnabler, AppleSMBIOS, OpenHaltRestart

- Don't install when you install OSX into USB memory
(Stop USBEHCI detection and boot up from USB storage)
IntelCPUPMDisabler, Voodoo*, UUID

At last,  Arigato ryuu123-san for developing base hacks.

In this page, there are 2 way to install.

- Install to the harddisk inside of VAIO.
- Install to USB drive with other Genuin Intel Mac.

Which way do you want to?

I have try the way with a usb disk and my mac book
I have install Leopard, I have upload the ryuu zip alpha 0
I put the kext of ryuu alpha 0 in the folder
I put the boot in the ryuu folder in the root of my disk usb
I have install chameleon 2
I plug my disk usb in the vaio and the start stop when the grey page with the appel grey with the  circle of load and a small image appears which looks like has one stop.

I have try a second methode with Kalyway.
I plug my usb dvd rom drive in my vaio and I insert the dvd of kalyway.
and the install stop he writes stilll waiting for root device.

Do you have a solution?I made a mistake in the install?

If you use USB  disk, You can use mac book to insall.

I install Leopard with my Intel Mac, and update 10.5.7 soon.
I use ryuu123's alpha 1 because ryuu123 wrote that is for 10.5.7.
I install 5 kext file for the first time.
This is minimum to boot and use keyboard and mouse.

3 kexts copy into Extention folder.
-PCIFix
-ApplePS2Controller (search and download from anywhare)
-AppleACPIPS2Nub (search and download from anywhare)

2 kexts copy into inside kexts.
Ryuu123's IOATAFamily.kext have a AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext inside file.
Open it with right click and go into kext file, and pick up it.
  The AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext copy to the plugin folder of inside IOATAFamily.kext, that is already installed in the system.
  Ryuu123's IOUSBFamily.kext  have a AppleUSBEHCI.kext inside file.
  Open it with right click and go into kext file, and pick up it.
    The AppleUSBEHCI.kext copy to the plugin folder inside IOUSBFamily.kext, that is already installed in the system.
    
I use Chameleon 1 because maccosmo use this.
  Edit com.apple.Boot.plist for boot up option.    -v -f cpus=1 "Graphics Mode"="1600x768x32"

I have a problem for USB and sound device. I patched AppleAzaliaAudio for ALC262 and Bus drive(ID 811B8086) and remove the VoodooHDA.kext. Then the sound works well with clear sound not likely as VoodooHDA with noisy sound. But USB devices are dead. All of the usb device, external drive, WLAN  and internal card drives were not recognized. After deleting AppleAzaliaAudio.ket and rewriting VooodooHDA, USB devices were returned, but the sound became
noisy.

Can I make compatible both AppleAzaliaAudio.kext and USB devices?

I have solved this problem by myself. Both of USB and AppleAzaliaAudio.kext become usable with changing the order of reading kernel extension by renaming AppleAzaliaAudio.kext to ZAppleAzalioAudio.kext to be read after IOUSBFamily.kext. Using this method sound card works well without noises and the movies encoded for iPod can be playable with Quicktime Player. How to patch AppleAzaliaAudio.kext is mentioned in http://www.insanelym...showtopic=37042
and  in step 6, AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist should be patched as 0x811B8086 instead of 0x27d88086.

Hey guys! great news! I have this up and running on my Vaio now! also on my Vaio VGN-N38Z!

BUT I CANT GET THE DAM THING TO BOOT FROM BATTERY POWER! A/C POWER MUST BE IN AT BOOT?

Any suggestions for a fix??

I've been trying to get this working for some time now. I have read and re-read all the directions but I seem to have missed something. I'm also wondering what I'm supposed to do with ioreg-vaiop.txt I can't seem to find the post that explains what to do with it.

the ioreg-vaiop.txt file is not relavant for the installation.
it's just a list of system components found in ryu's vaio p

Hi guys,

I'm currently installing OS X on my Vaio P, but the installer gets stuck after loading all the kexts (I see the leopard background, spinning beachball). I'm not sure what to do, I'm not getting any errors. I've copied a 10.5.0 retail DVD to an external drive (using diskutil@10.5.7), and loaded/edited all kexts as described.


Anyone which has ideas about how to solve this, or had/has the same problem? It would be really cool if this works!

Is there something missing or that shouldn't be in this list? I start it up in verbose but it keeps hanging at waiting for root... I did add the two plugin files to their respective locations as well.

What is the merit of separating kext folders?

The /Extra/Extensions (mind the s) is a directory in which you can copy-paste kexts you've downloaded. This way, It's easy to see which one came with the Leopard DVD and which are 'custom'. I believe Chameleon loads this folder at boot, and adds the kexts to the normal location. (But I might be totally wrong about this, I'm new as well).

@mkdir: yes you can, at least, that's what I did and I'm getting past loading all kexts. Now it's just about getting rid of the beachball...

I installed all of the kext into /Syste/Library/Extensions/ and mixed  both Leopard generic kexts and added ones.
Chameleon loads /Extra/Extensions first, and continue to the generic kexts.

Now I try to install to USB again, so I make that folder, and try to use this rule.
