Microsoft is updating Silverlight, but it won't install on an AMD system. I don't know about Intel.
But on an AMD system it gives the error that you can't install on a PPC computer

there is an easy for for this

step 1:Right click on the package
Step 2:Show Contents
Step 3:Navigate to Contents/Resources/InstallationCheck
Step 4: Delete InstallationCheck
Step 5: install pkg

I can't delete the file from the Silverlight 3.0 package. When I drag it to the trash can, I get "error 61".

What do to? I would love a solution to this!
The alternative is that someone removes the file, uploads it and posts the link here, for us to download. That would be awesome!

Copy the pkg to the desktop before trying to delete the file.
You can also install the pkg with Pacifist

Of course, totally forgot that I didn't have permissions to write to the .dmg!
Thank you, worked perfectly!

@ricki: Open the DMG, drag the .pkg to your desktop or desired location, right-click, choose "Show contents of package" or something similar (I'm using a Norwegian version), navigate to Contents, and there you'll find InstallationCheck. Drag it to the trash, close your Finder window, and install. :thumbsup_anim:

I've removed the InstallationCheck from Silverlight 3.0 to get it to install on my machine, but when I go to stream Netflix Firefox crashes and Safari freezes.

I don't understand this, but here's an error message I got fr. Firefox that people can take a look at:

EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS AT 0X000000004a30170f
