Sounds good, Tariq. I'll load up my laptop here and upload 1.0.5 with no debug symbols. For Ed and unet, I'm going to go back and have another look at that fix for your chipsets, it's at least worth a try.

Funny, 'cuz it works with my 10.4.6 and several other peoples'. Maybe you have the same problem as Ed and unet.

Here is the compiled "release" version, 1.0.5, with the following features:
* Sound on 0x4370 and 0x4341 chipsets without the EAPD line;
* Latency-free;
* No known kernel panics.

Features still to come:
* EAPD inversion bit on chips that need it
* 6-channel/SPDIF support

10.0.5 with powersaving working on 10.4.6 SB400. Brilliant!

One oddity: Internal speakers don't work, headphone jack does, using odumso's compiled kext, modified with proper ID. No latency, No KPs

EDIT: Ah, an official compile. Trying that

I'm using a different chipset (SB400), so it's not unexpected.
Also, Dopefish's compile does the same thing.
Using an MSI MS-1029

This is a known issue specifically with MSI systems, from what I read in the Linux kernel documentation. I'm working on fixing it.

You have the problem that many of us are seeming to have. You're hardware has a known quirk that we are working to resolve. Should be ready soon.

I tried to kextload it, and I got:

25AppleAC97AudioEnginePCMIn is not compatible with its superclass, 20AppleAC97AudioEngine superclass changed?
kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension AppleAC97Audio.kext
load failed for extension AppleAC97Audio.kext
(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

My IOAudioFamily.kext is from the JAS 10.4.6 DVD, SSE2 patch....
Using the 10.4.7 update

Okay, that is REALLY weird. Download the 1.0.5 source and burty's complete package from page 19 of this thread and try to compile it for yourself.

Doesn't this have to be loaded at boot time? All I did was copy/paste into extensions directory and purge kextcache.
