That's X as in a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_Window_System_protocols_and_architecture
What you are after is -x as in booting OSX in safe mode. Simply type -x into the bootloader before the computer boots.
I have basically the same setup as you, please tell me if you get it to work. I'm having trouble finding a DSDT, since I actually got the motherboard because I thought I wouldn't need to have one.
First afterwards I found out that 7970 was supported.
This is rediculous. The entire point of having the same ports as the old case goes doesn't comply with having thunderbold ports. You might just as well stick a ATX-backplate in the case.
Getting thunderbolt is completely out of the question..
Got my cable yesterday, and booted up today with it. Been booting with the start button of an old box, really nice to just be able to run it now. Does what it says . USB is fine, don't have firewire on my MB.
Sorry, just so you don't count me in your calculations, I just bought a Lian-Li motherboard tray, so I won't be needing this anymore. Maybe if I make another one. My dad expressed wishes in me making him one .
I suggest for you to install the Apple HFS driver. Macdrive 8 corrupted my iMac's drive, so I suggest you not use the beta unless you are prepared to lose some data.
Also getting the exact same problem running windows 7 64 bit :s hope they release new drivers, I really like apples products and windows 7 is really nice to use
