mitch_de
I think they are komplete NV, and newer than from Apple. So will be useful also for other cards. elclanrs
Would this be useful with a 260GTX? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/174285-nvidia-gtx-285-mac-drivers-from-evga/#findComment-1198128 Share on other sites
mitch_de
Would this be useful with a 260GTX? Maybe, because the drivers have not only changes in for 285, its an newer build of the NVs. Maybe from 10.5.8 Dev build (the evga drivers come from NV itself). I can confirm it works for my 9300GS on my laptop!! What I did: - Install the fixed drivers with the Mac Pro check removed - Install NVinstaller V.52 Enjoy! Beerkex'd
Don't install these drivers on Snow Leopard, they're from July 2009 and will break everything in new and interesting ways that you have never seen if you do. zeigerpuppy
Don't install these drivers on Snow Leopard, they're from July 2009 and will break everything in new and interesting ways that you have never seen if you do. Thanks for the heads up, I was looking for a solution to my missing CUDA problem. In the end I updated to OS X 10.6.3 and CUDA works fine now. Looks like the 10.6.3 nvidia drivers are a better version than 10.6.2 Now getting impressive CUDA speed and much better frame rates in general (inc COD 4) Also tried out Flash Player Gala version which uses the GPU, much lower CPU load for flash video Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/174285-nvidia-gtx-285-mac-drivers-from-evga/#findComment-1461946 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Looks like the 10.6.3 nvidia drivers are a better version than 10.6.2 Definitely something happened but it's still up in the air whether it was good or bad, some people saw a decrease in performance, IIRC on Geforce 9400 cards. I got a huge boost in Open GL Extensions Viewer in 10.6.3, finally surpassing the scores I had in 10.5.8 with the Nvidia GTX 285 Drivers. I haven't done any real testing or played any games yet but we'll see when Steam for Mac comes out later this month.
