Does anyone know if the ASUS P5N-D LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard is supported for OSX?

dunno as yet bro...stuff i ordered will be coming soon..will try installing osx on it..hope it works..

This is great news. I pieced together a system today so that I could play AoC at something more than 10FPS, and I chose this motherboard. Not really giving much thought to running Leopard on it until I started thinking how I could justify this purchase other than to play a couple of games. Now I have one.

All the components should be here before the week is out, so hopefully I will have an answer this week as well.

Time for more research!!

OK, I have installed Leo4Allv3 on this board. I installed it on an IDE drive, but it does see the SATA drive I have installed. So, as of now, I can confirm the sound works fine (AC838), SATA works fine, and although Ethernet is recognized, it won't get an address using DHCP. Still researching and seeing what I can find.

I have this board too...

at first could not get eithernet to work... but once I used the Nforce.kext floating around here someone made.. it works. BUT only if I boot CPUS=1... and even with that once it works after 1 hour it stops working. Sound works but only 2.0 support, no 5.1

For some reason I need to attach a IDE cdrom to the computer or it wont boot... it sees my SATA CD drive but wont boot with it...

I have same mobo.

Tried installng with both the lastest Leo and Kalyway and got a functional install minus GFX and Networking. Alsmost identical experience to you.

Installed both times on a SATA drive partition. SATA cdrom boot was a no-go for install so I used a USB CDROM for the install.

Got grfx to work but no QE, ect. Tried about every nvidia kext I could find on these forums.

Gave up after about 15 attempts.

The networking I could live without, b/c I could just go buy a supported NIC. The graphics on the other hand...

I think the root of the problem lies with using a nForce 7 (or any series for that matter) series mobo AND a geforce Card and them not playing together well with Leo. nForce is a major bugger in osx86 in general in my experience.

My specs:

Asus P5N-D 750i SLI

EVGA 8800GT SC 512MB (G92)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 Wolfdale

If I could ever get the gfx driver running for my 8800 I'd be a happy happy happy camper.

i got these specs.

E8400, ASUS P5N-D , XFX 8800GT alpha dog.

we are lucky tho, we need a 8800GT loader, i will search for it soon, 8800GT cards are available on the mac's too...

hope to get drivers etc working on this board :D

somebody please give me a quick reply , so as to what options/ etc i need to choose to install os x leo on my machine,

i have heard that everything except network and graphics works( i have 8800gt)

specs in sign !

Tried again this weekend to get my tosh running. No luck.

I seem to have the best luck with the base install using Kalyway CD from a usb CD drive. With the nForce kernel. I get sound out of the box, usb, fireware, and full sata support.

Can't get my 8800gt (g92) to work at all, using nvinject or efi strings, using various methods, even after using lspci utility to determine and inject my devID's into the proper plists.

Can't get forcedeth, forcedeth-d, forcedeth-nock, or forcedeth-nockd to work. Tried various versions. Again, I inserted the proper devIDs into the plists. I tried using cpus=1 on boot as well.

I could live without the network card.. can get one that works for under $20 hehe. The graphics on the other hand... that is a showstopper for me. Safemode graphics just don't cut it.

At any rate, I've gone far and above my level trying to get things to work, so it looks like I will just hang my head in shame until someone with better knowledge of this stuff figures out how to make it work.

I got the same specs here, 9800gtx instead of 8800gts and no luck so far:

It just hangs in a reboot loop unless I boot single user mode :-(

SATA & FW are working fine as far as I can see.

I did not play with the options like cpus=1 but I do not think it might change something - reading your posts.

edit:

No luck, neither using the 9800gtx driver installer found round here nor using aquamacs method of gfx strings

Hi all, I have a problem with the leo4all v3 installation on my computer.

The specs are as follows:

Intel C2D E8400 3.0Ghz

Asus P5N-D 750i SLi

Asus EN8800GT 512MB

OCZ Platinium PC6400 800MHz 2GBx2

LG IDE DVD+-RW Optical Drive

Maxtor 60GB IDE HDD

Installation: Leo4All V3 (from the green devil)

I managed to boot into the installation screen, did a clean format and single partition of the Maxtor60GB HDD.

However, the installation hangs 3/4 the way to completion. It says it has 2 minutes left and it hangs, the installation bar animation stops and my cursor freezes.

Anything I'm doing wrong? should I boot with any options?

I have can't get leo4all to work at all, i get a installation success, but after that no luck , after long waiting times i get a blue screen and it stays there ! i can't even get to the registration etc, someone said that i need to choose a kernel with sleep capabilities...

also i can't get the ps2 keyboard/mouse to work, does not even work when i boot from the dvd, so i cant type anything in the single user mode..

currently using this..

Kernel 9.2.2(modbin)

Nforce-test

Nvidia 10.5.2 kexts

NVinj 0.2.1

ALC 833

..

help me!!!

bladesreloaded remove the graphics drivers and you'll have perfect boot then after you've registered reinstall graphics drivers and for keyboards etc. look in your bios and fiddle with the usb try disabling legacy usb and it should work.

Well I installed Ideneb 10.5.4

First of all you can't Master Boot Record. You must use GUID.

Basically everything works out of the box... BUT and here is the big BUT. For some reason there is no USB support!!

that means no USB Ethernet. Well anyways.. gave it a try. In the BIOS I tired everything... Legacy / Controller with no luck. Back to 10.5.3 Kalyway

BTW. Kernel panics unless maxmem=3072 and disabling of IDE devices.

THIS MOTHERBOARD REALLY SUCKS

reporting success,

fully working 10.5.4 on this mainboard, using modbin 9.4.0 , can't get the vanilla's to run ..everything's working superb..
