Apple has announced iPhone OS 4, with over 100 new features such as multitasking and folders inherited from its desktop OS sibling, Mac OS X ,not to mention 1,500 new APIs for software developers to get their teeth into.

iPhone OS 4 is slated for release "this summer", likely inline with a new iPhone announcement at the yet-to-be-announced Apple WWDC 2010 event which is expected to be held between June 28th to July 2nd this year. First-generation iPhone and iPod Touch models are sadly not supported.

I got to dive into the 4.0 Beta install on my iPhone yesterday the minute it came out (registered apple dev) and am highly impressed with what they have done with all the new features. Now they just have to get them to work!

I have a huge list of bugs and crashes to send out to app devs and apple alone. Thats why they call it beta! However I'm sure it will be one fine piece once its final.

I could go on but my signed NDA keeps me from doing so ;\ Even though I'm just about anonymous on here....

I think Apple's version of "Multitasking" is spectacular. Yes it's limited, but for the very best of reasons. Good for them. Can't wait to see it working on my iPhone and iPad.

multitasking is not working very well for the moment, in fact applications are kind of restarting when youu relaunch them.

I am trying to install this damned Beta 2 and I hope I'll have some news for you guys.
