Sabr
Well, perhaps you could describe the problem and how you fixed it... Unless it's embarrassingly stupid you don't wanna tell Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9999-stupid-newb-error/#findComment-62555 Share on other sites
xiberia
ok, it was a simple newb mistake. I had two drives, one with 10.4.3 on it, and a blank drive for 10.4.4. So I install 10.4.4, all goes ok. then I unplug the 10.4.3 drive and try to boot the 10.4.4 one, and I get the "waiting for boot device" thing... "strange" methinks, I included the IOATA.kext, why doesn't it boot. Well, it didn't boot because I still had the drive set up on the second IDE port, and set as slave. Stupid newb mistake (that I put down to trying to do this at 4am when I should have been asleep if I had any sense). Plugged the drive into the first IDE port and made it master, and then it booted. Sometimes, its the simplest of things that get overlooked Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9999-stupid-newb-error/#findComment-62769 Share on other sites
