I like the sound of this:

What might interest many consumers put off by the phone's previous £269 price tag is that the way the iPhone is sold in the UK (bought first, then contract selected via iTunes) means anyone can now pick up the cheaper model during the promotion - without committing to a contract - and unlock it.

 

Going to pick one up tomorrow.

Been putting it off for a while myself, couldn't justify the previous price and my holiday to NY isn't til September. Kept an eye on ebay too, but the prices on there are worse than O2. Now if I can face the Lowry and Easter holiday kids/ shoppers.....

does anybody know if you order iPhone online from Carphone warehouse, you give your credit card number, and you don't activate it on O2 when you get it, the contract doesn't start right?
