I just got my first Hackintosh up-and-running. It's a q6600 on a DFI Bloodiron, 4gb RAM, geforce 7300gt, 500gb harddrive.

I tried installing Final Cut Express, but when selecting which applications to install, it appeared greyed-out. I didn't even notice until after I ran through all the discs and tried to run Final Cut, only to find that it wasn't on my computer. The readme says that programs won't install if the computer doesn't meet the requirements. I must just have something setup wrong. "About This Mac" says "1.6ghz unknown" for some reason. Any suggestions?

honestly, i don't know what a lot of the stuff on here means. maybe it needs to kexts to run properly? if so, i don't know what to do in that case. i'd just like everything to work like it's supposed to. anybody got a "for dummies" guide on this stuff?

apparently FCE and Livetype both have the same requirements. I was able to check the box for Livetype, but not for FCE. My q6600 is still listed as "1.6 GHz Unknown" in the profiler. Could that have something to do with it, and is there an easy way to change that?

Have a search on the forums for final cut, it has the same problem, its looking for an intel ID from the processor to install. I dont think you need to delete the files as the tutorial says, just change the code where it checks your card and your processor for Intel and QE to TRUE from FALSE
