  1. Clover boot loop, getting back to Hackintosh

Misunderstood your last post, KernelPm was exactly what I needed. Sorry for being an ass, I just assumed that the default config.plist would be at least enough to get to load a kernel before crashing. Live and learn.
  2. Clover boot loop, getting back to Hackintosh

I don't even get a kernel panic or freeze, the boot loop is before the OS boot scroll. I skipped the hardware details because if it's more technical than "I have a totally non-functional install of Clover" of course it belongs in a different forum. I'm still thinking I made some obvious noob error in generating the Clover boot USB that is totally non-hardware-specific, and had the idea that this was the appropriate location for extremely simple questions from new users.
  3. Ignore my post count. I was very active circa 2006, but have been away from the community since Chameleon was the new hotness, which is why I'm posting here. I've got an HP Z230 workstation up and running perfectly with Clover with the exception that I can only get it to boot using a Clover install made with tools from another popular forum that I won't name. I've tried making a Clover boot disk multiple times. Each time I start by formatting the USB stick with Disk Utility (GPT+OSX Extended), then image the drive with the Sierra app from the app store via the command line (/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction). I then install Clover using the official .pkg (Check Install Clover for UEFI booting only, OsxAptioFix2, Install RC scripts on target volume). I add FakeSMC.kext to kexts/other, and finally set my Product Name iMac14,2. Every time I just get a boot loop. Clover loads fine, and I see the AptioFix2 efi scroll, but the kernel boot scroll never appears. I've installed and reinstalled, both from my Mac mini and the hackintosh, using multiple USB drives always to the same results, but get up and running fine using the other Clover install. I really want to get a vanilla install working, but I have no idea what bit of secret sauce I'm missing that makes the other Clover install work and the vanilla Clover install fail.
  4. Fermi Quadro 1000m, HP Z1, no signal on internal screen

Sorry, that dump was from IOJones, I didn't realize it doesn't have equivalent output to IORegistryExplorer. IORegistryExplorer output attached. I tried each iMac13,1, MacBookPro10,1, and (for good measure) MacBookPro6,2 both with and without with Board-ID of Mac-C3EC7CD22292981F. Just went through again and tried each of these permutations without the NVCAP. Every attempt had the same result of only getting video on the external display (except MBP6,2 which actually blacked out both screens). The current plist version (edited w/ Clover Configurator 4.43.0, no NVCAP, Ivy Bridge iMac, custom board ID from above) attached. Thanks again for all your help. z1.ioreg.zip config.plist.zip
  5. Fermi Quadro 1000m, HP Z1, no signal on internal screen

Oops, let's see if the attachment works this time. z1 info.zip
  6. Fermi Quadro 1000m, HP Z1, no signal on internal screen

…and the Kepler card was DOA, at least it was only $10.
  7. Fermi Quadro 1000m, HP Z1, no signal on internal screen

I've attached the requested files. In my current config.plist I'm using all the settings you recommended. Tried each suggested SMBIOS iteration and still no change. I've commented out my custom EDID since it wasn't helping. I picked up that Kepler card, I'm going to install that now and see what happens.
  8. Fermi Quadro 1000m, HP Z1, no signal on internal screen

Thanks, Hervé. I gave this a try and I'm still seeing the same issue. To be clear, the internal screen isn't even showing up in System Preferences, it's like it's not even connected. I looked at the ioreg output and there is a Display-A and a Display-B, so it does seem that the OS can tell at some level that there are two ports (btw, the internal screen is eDP, just figured that out in Linux). Since EDID Inject didn't work, I also tried injecting a CustomEDID (which I dumped in Linux), this also didn't help.
  9. I've got Sierra installed w/ Clover on my HP Z1 AIO workstation. Without video acceleration the internal screen is recognized just fine. With Inject NVidia set to true I get video acceleration, but only the external monitor works. I got a a rom dump for this card from techpowerup.com and also dumped the rom myself, both produce the same NVCAP in NVCAP Maker: 0400000000000700000000000000000700000000 Using this NVCAP doesn't change the results, still no internal display signal. actually blacks out both displays. For completeness, here is the original NVCAP from IOJones: 0400000000000100fe0000000000000700000000 Any tips on how to tweak this to get the internal display to work? I'm not sure if it's LVDS or eDP, does this make a difference? I have a source for a cheap Kepler based k2000m that would work in this machine. Any idea if that should be more likely to work? System Specs: HP Z1 AIO Workstation (gen 1) Intel Xeon E3-1245 V2 8GB DDR3 Quadro 1000m (mxm card)
  10. No, it isn't stuck on "waiting for root device" I booted in verbose mode and it stopped right after loading listing the network interfaces. As for the install method, I installed 10.6 using the instructions at the beginning of this thread and than ran the installer adidasprince supplied for his custom Chameleon. After looking back through this thread I think I see where I went wrong. From post 297: So I guess I nuked my Chameleon with an old version that doesn't support SL? I am going to try reinstalling Chameleon and the try these directions. Does that sound right? Edit: I reinstalled Chameleon and It is still freezing at the same point.
  11. Crud, I had everything working and then I installed addidasprince's Chameleon and now it just hangs on the Apple logo boot screen. Any idea what I did wrong? I could hook my hard drive up to my MacBook if I knew what to do. On boot OS X gets to loading the network drivers, lists each interface, and then just stops. There is no obvious sign of what it is stuck on.
  12. Snow Leopard is not seeing my IDE DVD drive, but it worked in Leopard, is there a kext I a missing?
  13. Gigabyte's Nvidia 9400 powered M-ATX MOBO

Well, the ASUS lacks FireWire and has a slower graphics accelerator.
  14. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

I am working on some improvements to the keyboard layout. Check it out in my thread on mydellmini.com.
  15. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Hmm, SerialNum=... doesn't seem to be working here. Type11, why do you have both AppleSMBIOS and AppleSMBIOSEFI in your set of kexts. AFAIK they do the same thing.
