I hope someone can help.

I have AMD 3200+ with Gigabyte motherboard with 2 ethernet cards. the one I care to operate is a

Marvel Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

I have 10.4.3 Installed on a dual boot system with XP on a different HD - Works fine so far but I can't connect to the Internet (Major Bummer !!!).

When I go in the Network control panel to the network port selection, the ethernet port is grayed out.

Can anyone help ? :P

Pllllllllllease !!

Thanx in advance.

I hear that there is a apple-written driver for Yukon chipsets included in 10.4.4 that is not in 10.4.3. There are threads on this- but you could include that kext.

I have the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Mainboard, which also has a Marvell Yukon NIC onboard.

After installing 10.4.5 the ethernet was greyed out in the network settings.

Then I edited the AppleYukon.kext and exchanged the id 0x436311AB in Info.plist with the id my NIC has (0x432011AB). After recaching the kexts and rebooting, the ethernet was not greyed out anymore!

But I cheered too early. No matter, what I enter in the ethernet settings, I cannot get networking to run. I guess the driver in AppleYukon.kext does not support this special Yukon Card.

But maybe someone has another idea?
